What you'll do

As an Equipment Engineer and team member your task will be to create robust, efficient, and improved processes and equipment for Propulsion Components. You will be a part of a team and setting the scene for our new platform. You will have the opportunity to improve the techniques & methods within this field. The team follows the project through product development & feedback, quoting and buying the equipment as well as installing and commissioning. This means that you will take part in cost estimations, development of process concepts, supplier relations, continuous alignment with customer, etc. You dig in where it is needed and are flexible towards late changes and unforeseen situations, using your innovation and determination to succeed. 

What you'll bring

We see that you have a degree within Automation, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience and have been working within manufacturing engineering. This role also requires one or more of the following special technical skills such as mechanical design, CATIA/CAD, Geometry assurance, joining techniques, hot/ cold welding process, PD/PS, etc. We see that you are detail oriented, Quality focus and a good communicator. What you will do
You will lead the implementation and optimization of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems and tools. Develop and maintain standardized processes for data creation, storage, retrieval, and dissemination. You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure accurate and timely data exchange.
Together you will identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the PLM framework. You will provide technical expertise and support to users on PLM systems and related tools.

About you
* Expertise (min 5 years) in PLM systems, preferably 3DExperience by Dassault.
* Siemens Teamcenter and PTC Windchill, or similar platforms are also relevant competence.
* Master- or bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science (or a related field), is preferred.
* Proven experience (5+ years) in Product Lifecycle Management within the automotive industry.
* Strong understanding of Product Lifecycle Management principles and methodologies.

We are seeking a talented researcher for a 5-year Industrial PhD position at Volvo Cars, in collaboration with Högskolan Väst and Uppsala Universitet. This position offers a unique opportunity to advance electric vehicle technology while pursuing academic research.

In this role, you will explore the multi-objective optimization of traction inverters using Power Electronics Building Blocks (PEBB). Your research will focus on optimizing cost, efficiency, power density, and reliability of modern electric vehicle systems. You will develop and validate prototype traction inverters, creating comprehensive design optimization guidelines for practical applications.

The ideal candidate should hold a Master's Degree in Electronics Engineering or related field with a focus on power electronics. What you'll do

As Battery Cell Simulation Engineer, you will be responsible of developing analytical models intended for performance and life estimation simulations of battery cells. The models span a wide range of complexity, from models based on first hand physical principles to empirical models such as equivalent circuit representations. Much of the development rely on input from cell testing and an important part of the work is therefore to define test needs and test methods as well as development of methods to extract and calibrate model parameters.

Your work will be used as input by other teams for design of HW components and development of SW functionality in electric and hybrid vehicle projects. As such you will have a close collaboration with colleagues within the department Propulsion & Energy and other engineers within Volvo Cars. The job also involves a close collaboration with test teams and suppliers of cells and modules. 

You will mainly use Python, but also tools like MATLAB/Simulink, Comsol and similar.

What you'll bring

We believe you have a Master of Science degree in chemical engineering, applied physics, mathematics or similar to qualify. In this role, you will lead and support cross-functional business projects for ingoing components in our strategic electronic control units in the cars. Vad kommer du att utföra?

Hos oss kommer du ansvara för materialflödet med bred variant utav material ifrån hela världen. Bland annat kommer du arbeta med material till våra testriggar och utveckling, men även karosser och kompletta bilar ute på området. Vi ansvarar även för paketleveranser till hela området samt försändelser utanför Volvos område. 

Du kommer att köra både motviktare och skjutstativstruck.

Arbetet innehåller tunga lyft av material och paket, ompackning av material samt andra fysiska moment så god fysik är viktigt. Din vardag kommer bestå av olika uppdrag så det är viktigt att du trivs med stora variationer. 

Du kommer att ha tät kontakt med kollegor inne på området samt med externa leverantörer i sakfrågor gällande logistik och bidra med specialistkompetens i lämpliga forum. Vi efterföljer tullens direktiv vilket innebär tät kontakt med tullen för att säkra inkommade material.


Vem är du?

Vi ser att du har en bred erfarenhet av arbete i lagerverksamhet och har väldigt god truckvana av både skjutstativ samt motviktstruck, du behöver med andra ord ha B-körkort samt truckkort. Har du erfarenhet av att jobba med tullhantering är detta högt meriterande. Du behöver ha mycket god datorvana och ha lätt för att lära dig olika system då vi arbetar i ett flertal system dagligen.

Du behöver ha godkänd gymnasieexamen samt goda kunskaper i svenska i tal och skrift, vi ser även att du känner dig bekväm med det engelska språket i både tal och skrift.

As a System Designer, you play an important role in realizing the interior illumination for future Volvo cars. The product team is responsible for developing and quality assuring the functionality of interior lighting and switch and display illumination. Vad kommer du att utföra?


Som provningstekniker kommer du att ställa i ordning riggar inför provning enligt uppdrag, främst Kaross, Chassi- och komplettbilsprovning. Du kommer även identifiera behov av konstruktion och byggnation av provriggar och fixturer samt preparera rätt provningsteknisk utrustning på provobjektet. I vissa fall kommer du att självständigt genomföra riggkörningen under provuppdraget. 

För vissa riggar och metoder kommer du självständigt förbereda mätuppdraget, genomföra givar set-up, hämta kalibreringsdata samt insamling av erforderliga mätdata under provgenomförandet. 

Utöver ovan kommer aktivt delta i kontinuerlig utveckling av rutiner, arbetssätt, metoder och utrustning på riggen. Du kommer även ansvara för att administrera transport och mottagning av provmaterial till och från riggen.


Vem är du?


Vi ser att du har en fordonsteknisk gymnasieutbildning eller annan likvärdig utbildning samt har en bred fordonsteknisk erfarenhet i liknande rollen. Du bör även ha erfarenhet av svetsning, svarvning och fräsning samt övrig maskinbearbetning. Vi ser att du har kunskap och erfarenhet inom arbete med elektrifierade fordon, mätteknik och hydrauliska utrustningar. Meriterande om du har erfarenhet och kunskap inom felsökning och mjukvara. 

Utöver ovan nämnda kvalifikationer ser vi även att du har god datorvana då det förväntas att du ska kunna genomföra provning utan tillsyn samt goda kunskaper i svenska och engelska i tal och skrift då vi arbetar mycket med externa kunder. Du behöver ha B-körkort.

Engineering Manager Concept Centre – 91893 Advanced Engineering Workshop, Advanced Engineering Electronics and Precision Workshop. 
Concept Centre is the secret place where we plan, design and make prototypes, test objects, rigs and fixtures to internal customers across the company. We do everything from full scale prototype cars used to evaluate e.g., ergonomics, aerodynamics, safety, and design, to upholsteries for seat prototypes in early stages and a wide range of other smaller projects. 
We are the ones to reach out to when you have a new concept, and you want a physical prototype. The section consists of a total of 130 colleagues divided into 5 specialized groups.
We are now looking for a tech savvy and skilled leader to the group 91893 consisting of three sub-teams: Advanced Engineering Workshop (AEW), Advanced Engineering Electronics (AEE) and Precision Mechanics Workshop. 

The AEW will manage everything car-related; from handcrafted prototypes developing steering, chassis, or new propulsion technologies. One known delivery is the SM-series. 
 The AEE build customized electrical systems for concept cars, test cars and other prototypes and concepts. Highly skilled in electronic software, we program our own controllers to make our customers ideas come true.
 Precision Mechanics Workshop manufactures small, highly precise components to testing, temperature cables, prototypes or test to propulsion engineering.

SW and Electronics Test Engineer
As a Test Engineer, you will join a highly dedicated team of engineers responsible for test analysis, test planning, and test methods definition.
You will write and execute tests across all abstraction layers in the V-model, planning features and stories within the In-house SW and Test team, focusing on door, locking, and alarm functions for verification and validation.
Your tasks will also include fault tracing and administrative trace and coverage analysis on the component nodes, system designs and complete vehicle function.
You will work with several different test infrastructures, and with several different test assets, such as HIL, SIL and VIL environments. But also, real life testing on test tracks or on the road using test or released vehicles.
The In-house SW and Test team’s goal is to develop the next generation of door, locking, and alarm functionalities while enhancing the current solutions. Additionally, the team addresses quality issues, implements running changes, and manages model year updates.
As the product also consists of hardware, it is equally important to be proficient in electronics and HW test.

What you will do
* Participate in the test system flow process by defining test activities, equipment, asset under test and DUT (Device Under Test) preparedness together with requirement owner and suppliers.
* Be responsible for the function verification (e.g., acceptance test and regression test on deliverables from supplier or inhouse developers)
* Component-/Domain- and Complete testing in Boxcar, SIL, HIL, VIL and on Vehicle
* Test methods & test case development in Carweaver and vTestStudio.
* Test requirement writing, planning and coordination of test activities together with rest of the team.
* Create Fault reports and assign to the receiver, that an investigation and solution can be provided under function or system owners leadership. Review and communicate suppliers’ test reports and results.
* Independently fault trace and take logs and measurement on the component and actuators and signals.
* Ensure the work is delivered as per specified acceptance criteria and definition.

* Master of Science within electronics, mechatronics, applied physics or similar.
* Swedish B-driver’s license is necessary.
* Knowledge and understanding how to read electrical schematics, use of instruments such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators etc.  
* Experience within Volvo Cars or from automotive industry.
* Experience within automated verification of system design and software.

The EDS Uni& Floor harness team exist within the complete Electrical Infrastructure Department. This team is responsible for the mechanical design and development of a vehicles electrical 'nervous' system, called wiring harnesses, particularly Uni & Floor harnesses. You’ll learn to use the right tools, methods, processes to create and design wiring harnesses supporting the realization of electrical vehicle functions or features. What you’ll do
A position is now available as a Wiring Harness Design Engineer to help us define and develop our future galvanic electrical structure. The engineer’s responsibility is to design and develop the harnesses located within the Cabin area.
The job entails mechanically routing or physically connecting electrical components with wiring bundles, fulfilling numerous requirements and guidelines from Electrical performance, EMC and making sure that the end product is of high quality, can be manufactured by suppliers and assembled with ease in vehicle assembly plants.  

The work includes, but is by no means limited to, the design and development of virtual harness models, creating corresponding 2D/3D drawings for specification, coordinating with suppliers making sure that they deliver top quality harnesses manufactured based on the design, as well as, verification of harnesses to make sure that the solutions work robustly as intended.

What you will do 

This role is not about manual testing, nor it is about writing tests for the software itself. This role is about building test environments that run automated tests and manages its infrastructure, and about creating tools, scripts and frameworks that enable developers to write tests themselves. In this role, you will help us increase the quality and reduce the risk of releasing faulty software through automation. 

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to participate in the entire process from design of our rigs(Vector HIL)  to fault tracing and maintenance. You will be a part of improving tools and processes to be able to increase our efficiency when we scale up number of rigs.

At Domain Test & Integration, we are developing test environments for new platforms and programs within Volvo cars business unit - Software & Electronic Platform (SWEP).  We design rigs and provide test infrastructure for software and electronic integration. Our rigs will continuously integrate (CI) and provide feedback of the electrical system to enable high quality and robustness. We can achieve this by working with simulations and quality assure what we deliver. We are team of engineers with focus on quality, sharing information and looking for new way to daily improve our products and way of working. We are looking for an engineer to join our team with experience from building a scalable system environment with focus on quality and fast feedback. 

What you will do 

This role is not about manual testing, nor it is about writing tests for the software itself. This role is about building test environments that run automated tests and manages its infrastructure, and about creating tools, scripts and frameworks that enable developers to write tests themselves. In this role, you will help us increase the quality and reduce the risk of releasing faulty software through automation. 

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to participate in the entire process from design of our rigs(Vector HIL)  to fault tracing and maintenance. You will be a part of improving tools and processes to be able to increase our efficiency when we scale up number of rigs.  

You will develop and configure simulation software for integration into an operational test environment. Create health and regression tests and connect rigs to CI toolchain, to make sure that our rigs meet our own and other stakeholders test needs.

Do you fit the profile? 

You have at least Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent. We see that you have experience with scalable system development and that you are proficient in Python for automation purposes. You need to have experience working with CANoe and CAPL.

At Software Engineering Office we are responsible for the execution of the complete SW deliveries and activities cross Engineering We secure the program for complete SW and own the Software execution plan. We ensure and run development of all associated PMTi and assurance processes. Technical Expertise:
* Proficient in SW/System Testing and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD)
* Degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electronics, or a related field.
* Automotive Knowledge:
* Strong understanding of vehicle electrical architecture and communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, LIN).

Engineering har ett antal sektioner och inom varje sektion finns olika produktutvecklingsgrupper. I rollen tilldelas man ett eller flera av dessa områden som man specialbevakar. Här driver man införande av ny utrustning, tar fram driftsäkerhetsunderlag, lägger upp reservdelar etcetera. Man är drivande och sammankallande i olika forum såsom kund och teknikmöten.
Rollen är mötesintensiv där mycket tid åtgår till projektdeltagande samt strukturering i underhållssystemet Maximo och övriga dokumenthanteringssystem. Resor i arbetet förekommer beroende på uppdrag.
