Role Overview:
The client is looking for a Development Engineer with a specific focus on engine calibration. The ideal candidate will have experience in testing and optimization of internal combustion engines, with a strong understanding of combustion theory and experience in developing combustion engines.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities: Deliver optimization tasks for specific engines, ranging from sensor linearization to complete engine software settings for production.
Work with advanced tools like ENE and DoE for screening and calibration.
Use tools such as ATI Vision (calibration and data acquisition), DTECS (client-specific development tool for embedded control systems), and Concerto (data post-processing and evaluation tool).
Collaborate with various internal teams and external contacts to deliver engine calibration solutions for diesel and alternative fuel-powered engines.
Requirements: Engine calibration experience.
Master of Science or similar relevant technical experience.
Several years of experience in combustion engine development.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Driver’s license for a car.

Your Role
We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Algorithm Developer specialized in ADAS/AD software development. You will join our Advanced Technology Department full of ambitious and highly competent developers at our site in Gothenburg.
Your daily tasks include:
Working as senior algorithm developer and technical expert in one of the development teams focusing on perception, prediction, planning and/or control algorithms development
Leading Proof of Concept studies on new methods and algorithms and spearheading the most technical challenges while acting as a technical mentor and development coach to other talented engineers
Defining technology roadmap items and leading technical discussions
Investigation and adaptation of latest development in technology and methodology into our solution stack
Evaluation and evolution of our market-leading ADAS/AD solutions

Your Background
Required:
University degree in Control Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics or equivalent qualification
Minimum 7 years of ADAS/AD algorithm development experience
Minimum 2 year experience on AI/ML, ideally in ADAS/AD domain
Hands-on experiences with popular deep learning frameworks, e.g., PyTorch and TensorFlow.
Proven records with design and realization of neural networks.
Good understanding of radar, vision and lidar perception
Solid understanding of ADAS feature functions, incl NCAP and GSR requirements
Proficiency in complex algorithm development
Solid experience in C/C++ programming, MATLAB and/or Python
Strong problem solving skills and ability to learn

About the role
You will work with the conception, planning and execution of a wide range of research and development projects, as well as contributing with your expertise in industrial consultancy projects.

You will be part of the team around at least one of our two research areas: Mechanics and Reliability that is focused on material characterization, mechanical reliability and life evaluation, validation methodology and uncertainty quantification (VVUQ); Building and Infrastructure that is focused on concrete and steel structures, rock mechanics, monitoring and assessment of existing structures. Your focus will be mechanical reliability in industrial applications, including fatigue, statistical modelling and reliability of mechanical systems, material properties, numerical modelling and uncertainty quantification.

Who are you?
You have a PhD in mechanical engineering or related areas, such as engineering physics or applied mathematics & statistics. Expertise in solid and structural mechanics is required, including numerical modelling skills. Experience in applying machine learning methods to mechanical applications and previous industrial experience are meritorious.

Evaluation and improvements for display-based systems like Camera Monitor Systems in trucks.


Background

Driver Interaction and Infotainment at Volvo Group Trucks Technology work with everything from the platform layer on ECUs to content and interaction design on truck screens, mirrors, controls, and other things the driver sees and interacts with.
Over time, the number and sizes of displays in trucks have increased, which could affect the drivers´ subjective perception (e.g. comfort, acceptance and sense of control), impact physiological aspects (e.g. fatigue, cognitive load and depth perception), and affect the driving performance (e.g. gaze behaviours, distance judgment and risk-taking).

Description of thesis work
The focus of this Master Thesis is to compare a truck with rearview mirrors combined with smaller displays to a truck with Camera Monitor displays combined with larger displays.
The effects the two different driver environments have on drivers will be evaluated in trucks equipped with different sensors, driving on public roads or test track.
A combination of perceptual, psychophysical, cognitive and subjective measurements will be collected and analysed, e.g. eye gaze behaviour and subjective measurements.
The aim is to draw conclusions about what needs to be improved for future display-based systems to support a healthier and safer driver environment.


Goal of the thesis

The goal is to investigate the impacts of the growing number of displays in trucks, draw conclusions about what could be improved and propose future development for display-based systems.

* Design an experiment to evaluate two different existing trucks.
* Equip trucks with cameras and other measurement equipment.
* Perform a user evaluation in the trucks with truck drivers.
* Interview drivers and collect qualitative measurements.

This is what you will do 
You will have a cooling and hydraulic system development responsibility and will work close to the components to support development, strategies, and act as mentor for component engineers.  
Both cooling and hydraulic systems are split in different organisations within the company where key to success is collaboration and teamwork. The main task is to keep the propulsion part of the cooling and hydraulic system together and synchronized with other systems and organizations. Your daily work will include a wide range of activities such as setting roadmap for the future, agreeing on product requirements, creating and update test codes, provide input to hardware development, give recommendations, lead workshops and development work. Component development will be an important part to contribute in. You will be responsible through the whole chain from early development and roadmaps to maintenance, meaning that you are accountable for solving quality issues.  
As part of our group and Base Engine you are also expected to take part in continuous improvements and support on other tasks when possible.   
Who are you? 
We are looking for a person with great teamwork skills who enjoys developing yourself and your team, as well as interacting with colleagues and stakeholders. You have several years of experience from development of both mechanical and electrical fluid components. From early phase to maintenance. You have experience from and understand cooling and hydraulic system architecture and properties. A positive mind-set and can-do attitude with good communication skills will be needed in this role. You are analytical and know the importance of developing new technical products in a structured and organized way. You pay attention to details and can take necessary actions when required. You value an open and honest environment where trust enables high performing teams.  
Other qualifications  
* You have a M.Sc. within Product Development or similar.   
* You have experience from cooling and hydraulic systems.  
* You have at least 2 years of experience from development of fluid components such as coolant pumps and valves. This includes understanding of system and requirements, component testing, technical documentation as well as technical negotiations with suppliers.  
* Knowledge in mechatronics and understanding of SW and communication integration is also needed.  
* Knowledge in Creo is a requirement.

Du kommer få möjligheten att leda högteknologiska utvecklingsprojekt. Projekten ligger i våra affärsområden Energi, Industri/Produktutveckling och Process. About the role
As a Laboratory Development Engineer, you will lead and deliver various development activities, where creativity, quality and flexibility are of prime importance and keys to success. Roles and Responsibilities


The Vehicle Energy Management organization is based in Gothenburg and its main responsibility is to maximize energy efficiency of vehicle transports. This includes the development of advanced onboard control of vehicle systems as well as offboard service enablers related to vehicle energy. An important aspect of this work is to be able, through data analytics and simulation, to replicate relevant road and usage conditions of our products. By creating a structured workflow from real data to simulation supporting all different truck drivelines we can support the development of digital services, onboard control, sales tools, verification and validation among many other aspects, to that we give the name Virtual Vehicle Energy Lab.


As a simulation engineer, you will focus on simulating vehicles and their sub-systems with a focus on maximizing energy efficiency in relevant operation conditions. Your key responsibilities will be:
Define relevant usage conditions of trucks for different markets
Validation and verification of advanced energy-saving functions (on-board and off-board)
Synchronize solutions for all propulsion concepts and fuels
Design digital services capabilities

You will report to the manager of the Vehicle Energy Management Functions

Description
As a Manufacturing Simulation Engineer, you will be a part of a commodity engineering team and will perform analysis of alternative manufacturing scenarios by different types of simulation models. You will develop new Body Green Field processes or update Brown Field areas. You will answer questions in fields ranging from station to factory level to ensure a process-driven product development, with focus on production-effective product solutions.


This in an environment of both highly Automated Production as well as in more Manual stations/lines. Advanced manufacturing simulation tools are used by the engineer and it has progressed to the point where most of the design verification is done using computer simulations rather than physical prototypes. It encompasses simulation, validation and optimization of products and manufacturing systems.
The role is a major provider of information to support manufacturing engineering team in process development.
Qualifications:

You will belong to the Chassis Department within Volvo Group Trucks Technology. Our team is responsible for product updates of Volvo heavy duty range as FM/FH in the area of Cooling system routing for Battery Electric Vehicles. Your mission


You will be the product responsible for maintenance and new development within Chassis Engineering. This task will include strategic work, planning, eliminating roadblocks, creating technical roadmaps as well as being responsible for deliveries and reporting towards projects, suppliers, production, quality, aftermarket, etc.


The role includes design work, requirement setting, documentation, validation & verification of the installation for the cooling system routing. Main design work tools are CAD (CREO), Microsoft office and Volvo documentation systems.


The main design area is to install various components on the rear area of the truck (behind cab). The work will be carried out in all phases, from start cost to maintenance. Several new innovative projects are starting up where new installations are needed.

About the role


As a Lead Design Engineer within Electrical Engineering in Project Management you are together with colleagues, responsible for electrical and automation systems design validation in facility and test cell development, assignments, and projects. You will analyze and understand incoming needs from internal customers, as well as needs and design requirements specifications for external suppliers.


You are expected to bring expertise in:
Tools (Elplan, ElproCad) and understanding for documentation system.
High level of knowledge in electricity, standards related to it and a good understanding of EMC, High Voltage and Low Voltage Directive.
Basic knowledge in, Electrical Safety, CE marking and machine directives.
Cable sizing, Measurement techniques and electronics, Signal handling and quality as well as PID regulator technology.

You will create sustainable solutions, strategies, methods and instructions within test cell electronics, electrical load units and measurement equipment aligned with future demands. Together with your team, you will take part in benchmarking different systems to create a test & development environment on a premium standard and quality level. Additionally, you will analyze rig specifications, translate to RFQ documentation and secure common standards, as well as defining technical solutions.

Om rollen


Du kommer att vara en del av Cast Materials-teamet och du kommer att agera teknisk expert för gjutna material (aluminium och gjutjärn). Du kommer tillsammans med teamet att ansvara för att ge feedback och rekommendationer till produktionsanläggningar inom Volvokoncernen och stödja revision av externa leverantörer. Vad vi erbjuder

Som Underhållsingenjör hos oss kommer du vara en viktig kugge i att förvalta samt hålla hög tillgänglighet i batterimonteringens produktionsutrustningar. Det innebär att du kommer samla in drift-relaterade uppgifter och utifrån data och analyser säkerställa maskinernas prestanda. Du kommer även att utveckla utrustningarna mot morgondagens teknik.

Under första delen av din anställning kommer du arbeta i projektform då vår fabrik tas i drift under slutet av 2025. Du kommer supportera Reliability & Maintainability ingenjörer (R&M) i projekt med din tekniska kompetens samt erfarenhet och under projektet tilldelas ett ansvarsområde som du efter start av produktionen förvaltar.

Vad kommer du att utföra

I rollen som Underhållsingenjör hos oss kommer du att jobba med både förebyggande underhåll (FU) som optimerar utrustningen utifrån resurs/tillgänglighet och avhjälpande underhåll där du tar fram felsökningsdokument och reparationsdokument. Uppdatering av all dokumentation sker även löpande då det behövs. Vid behov kommer du ihop med arbetsledning/planering prioritera och optimera underhållsaktiviteter/resurser.

I rollen ansvarar du för den tekniska delen i serviceavtal vid upphandling tillsammans med inköp och att utvärdera de leverantörer som underhåll använder sig av. Du kommer inom ditt fabriksområde också ansvara för att utrustningsstruktur är uppdaterad i underhållssytemet Maximo, bereda, lägga upp och skrota reservdelar ur förrådet samt att det finns en ersättningsinvesteringsplan för området. 

Du kommer se till att underhållsintressen tillvaratas i projekt där ditt bidrag kommer vara att fokusera på exempelvis reservdelar, förebyggande underhåll, dokumentation och underhållsutbildning. Vidare kommer du delta i utveckling av underhållsprocessen och arbeta med teknik-metodutveckling samt framtagande av nya verktyg inom ditt ansvarsområde.

Din profil

Vi ser att du har en teknisk högskolekompetens eller motsvarande 3 års praktisk yrkeserfarenhet av specialkompetensområden, exempelvis inom el, Plc eller maskinteknik. Vi tror även att du har en god kunskap om produktionsprocessen, mycket god kunskap om underhållsprocesserna och god kännedom om VDM-processen (Value Driven Maintenance). Du har goda kunskaper i både svenska och engelska, muntligt och skriftligt. 

Vidare behöver du ha en god användarkunskap gällande Officepaketet, främst Excel men även andra program används frekvent i rollen, samt mycket god kunskap att hantera företagets underhålls och dokumentationssystem. Meriterande kunskaper i rollen är om du har goda kunskaper av Six Sigma konceptet och kunskaper/erfarenhet av underhållssystemet Maximo.

-Design user-friendly GUIs and Power BI Dashboards to visualize testing results and key performance indicators.

Requirements:

At least 2 years of experience in similar areas with an embedded background, along with 5 years of relevant experience in Software Development or Test Automation.
Prior experience and skills in the Automotive Embedded area with knowledge of CAN/LIN/Flexray/Ethernet.

-Experience with Scrum and working with remote teams across the globe.
-Excellent communication skills demonstrated by the ability to communicate at all levels.
-Experience in Hardware in the loop testing.

Inom vårt team Product Engineering hjälper vi till där det behövs och därför kan du få möjligheten att arbeta både via vår inhouse-avdelning eller på plats ute hos våra kunder. I vårt team är teknik det bästa vi vet och vi är övertygade om att teknik frodas av mångfald. Några av oss är uppväxta på en bondgård och en och annan kollega bygger sportbilar. Dessutom får du 600 nya kollegor som arbetar på kontoret på Lindholmen i Göteborg.

Om dig och kompetens

- Erfarenhet som konstruktör av konsument- och industriprodukter av plastdetaljer, integrerad elektronik samt val av maskinelement.

- CAD du behöver ha kolla på är främst Solidworks & PTC Creo. Catia är meriterande.

- Kunskap inom mekaniska komponenter.

- En god kommunikativ förmåga och motiveras av såväl teknik som ledarskap.

- Kunna prata med leverantörer och verkstäder.

- Arbetat med hela produktutvecklingsprocessen och har god förståelse för den.

- Obehindrat behärska både svenska och engelska i skrift och språk.
