Monava is an acoustic machine learning lab turning sound into actionable intelligence for defense and security. We are now looking to hire a Drone Pilot in the Gothenburg area to support flight operations and field activities.
About the role
As a Drone Pilot at Monava, you’ll be responsible for piloting drones during tests, trials, and field exercises. You’ll work closely with a technical team and contribute to safe, structured execution in real-world environments where conditions can change quickly. The role is hands-on and practical, with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and documentation.
Responsibilities
Drone piloting during planned flights, tests, and field sessions
Documentation of flights and relevant observations
Coordination with the team before, during, and after missions
Pre-flight checks and safe operation in accordance with procedures and regulations
Basic equipment handling and ensuring smooth on-site workflow

Requirements
Fluent in English or Swedish (spoken and written)
Comfortable working outdoors and in varying conditions
Responsible, safety-minded, and structured in how you work
Driving license

Meriting (nice to have)
Access to a car
Ukrainian language skills
Drone license
Other skills relevant to a startup: Programming, Design, Product

Security screening
This position is subject to security and background screening.

Why now:
First unit sold: we’ve sold our first test system to armed forces.
Paid pilots: our technology has been validated (TRL 6) in paid pilots with large defence contractor.
The role:
As a Founding ML Engineer / Researcher, you’ll build end-to-end systems across research, product, and deployment. We’re looking for generalists with depth in one or more of: defence, machine learning, math, software, digital signal processing, or electronics.
In short. We are looking for strong builders and researchers with previous experience in the above mentioned fields. You might have contributed to foundational research, lead data teams, enjoy math competitions or built missile guidance systems. As long as you are at the forefronts, we will make sure to accommodate the role regardless of seniority, gender, nationality, sexuality, religion and political views.
The role is based around Gothenburg, Stockholm or Helsinki and is remote for now (we are open to other locations). It is a paid position with equity at a growing start up.
