Role Overview
We are looking for a newly graduated software engineer.
Responsibilities
Working as part of our engineering team, you will develop and specialize your programming skills, learning to turn ideas into quality implementations that are released in our games.
Collaborating daily with other engineers and departments to deliver amazing features – both in-person and via Slack, email and our other communication tools.
Implementing, testing, and maintaining sustainable, reliable, and efficient code.

Requirements
BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent
Being comfortable in C++ programming with a desire to enhance your skills.
Good understanding of object-oriented design principles.
Good math skills including trigonometry, calculus, and linear algebra

As Associate Environment Director you will work with both internal and external teams of the Worlds/Environments domain, to achieve diverse and engaging worlds and gameplay levels for our players. You will collaborate closely with Art Direction and Level Design Leads, to help develop both the visual and gameplay experiences – according to the goals of each.
With an interest in creating content for our current and next-generation Sports titles, you will:
Responsibilities
Act as a leadership figure within the project, working closely with a diverse team of Artists, Technical Artists, Project Managers, Producers and Art Directors
Create high-quality benchmark content, from individual assets to entire levels, sets, or stadiums/arenas.
Set dress locations, conveying depth and storytelling in the way assets are composed going beyond the immediate needs of game design.
Deconstruct concept art, reference imagery, and style guides into efficient asset lists, taking into account opportunities for reuse and modular construction.
Breakdown tasks, assemble reference material, write briefs and estimates and oversee the work of internal and external artists.
Drive and facilitate content reviews and feedback, ensuring content quality meets targets.
Work with multiple Art Directors and leads to understand the content vision, direction, and quality expectations.
Explore, recommend and implement new techniques, tools, and workflows that improve quality and efficiency.
Maintain team best practices.
Mentor junior/intermediate artists.

Qualifications
8 or more years of production experience with asset creation, and overseeing entire levels.
You have expert knowledge of Maya, Max, or similar 3D modeling software.
Exceptional asset creation abilities (hard surface, architecture and/or organic assets)
Experience breaking down complex scenes into efficient asset sets and components.
Experienced working methodically, from initial grey-block through to final assets, iterating with low-fidelity content to determine the optimal approach, before building final assets.
A strong sense of proportion, scene composition, and lighting.
Convey a sense of ‘story’ through scene composition and set dressing – either to support, or enhance to the game design.
Experienced in managing and directing a small subset of artists in delivering Environments content to final quality.
Well versed in assessing scope, making recommendations, providing solid estimates, and delivering on time and to quality
Experience working with content-driven game engines (e.g. Unreal, Frostbite, Unity).
Experience collaborating with designers, engineers, and tech artists to evolve workflows, pipelines, and to problem-solve.
High fidelity modeling skills, along with ability to paint photorealistic surfaces using industry-standard physically-based 3D paint software (ideally Substance Painter).
Experience with photogrammetry, ZBrush and Substance Designer is a plus.
Experience working with outsource vendors is a plus.

The EA Create Technical Art team combines creativity and imagination with technical expertise. They are the bridge between artists, engineers, and designers responsible for data design and content production workflows.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Technical Artist (Sr TA) acts as a bridge between the artists and engineers. They are considered part of the art team and work closely with artists, project managers, SEs, and the Technical Art team. The main areas of responsibilities include art production workflows, tools, pipelines, asset optimization/integration, and shader development. Sr TAs are expected to assume ownership over any technical issues that arise on their project and bring them to resolution. This often includes delegating to/mentoring more junior staff on the team. You can be from an Art, Design, Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science background; however, you must demonstrate a comfort level in working with both art and science. Senior Technical Artists report to Technical Art Directors on the EA Create Technical Art team.
Qualifications:
At least 6+ years of cinematic/games production experience. You have completed more than 3 AAA games/movies.
A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a related field is desired.
Effective at communicating with different audiences: artists, engineers, managers.
Proficient scripting/programming in python and C#. (C++ is a bonus, but is not required).
Expert knowledge of a 2D and 3D art packages: Maya/Photoshop needed. Houdini/Substance Designer a bonus.
A solutions-provider, particularly as it pertains to testing and debugging technical issues.
Experience with asset optimization challenges/techniques.
A willingness to jump into the unknown and solve new problems; the ability to think creatively to resolve technical challenges and limitations.
