About the Role
Support the development and implementation of Functional Safety activities in accordance with ISO 26262
Collaborate with system architects, hardware engineers, software engineers, and suppliers to ensure compliance with Functional Safety requirements
Participate in Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) activities
Support the development of Functional Safety Concepts (FSC) and Technical Safety Concepts (TSC)
Review and assess safety-related work products from suppliers
Contribute to safety analyses, including FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), DFA (Design Failure Analysis), FTA (Fault Tree Analysis), and other safety assessment methods

Your Profile
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
Experience in product development within automotive, embedded systems, or similar industries
Strong interest in Functional Safety and system safety engineering
Understanding of electrical, electronic, software, or system development processes
Familiarity with automotive development processes and requirements
Knowledge of Functional Safety according to ISO 26262 is considered an advantage

ALTEN is now looking for a Customer Adaptation Designer (CA-Designer) for an assignment with one of our clients within the automotive industry. In this role, you will work with developing, designing, and documenting customer adaptation (CA) solutions based on specific customer requests, contributing to increased customer satisfaction and truck sales.
About the role
As a Customer Adaptation Designer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining CA solutions for both existing and future trucks. The work includes design, documentation, and continuous improvements of adaptation solutions in close collaboration with cross-functional teams. The role involves both hands-on design work and coordination with stakeholders across engineering, production, and market organizations.
Main responsibilities
You will maintain, develop, and design customer adaptation solutions based on requests and project needs, ensuring efficient and high-quality design for assembly. The role includes documenting solutions, supporting special vehicle offerings, and contributing to product and process development. You will work with part handling, technical documentation, and continuous improvements, while collaborating cross-functionally with stakeholders across engineering, production, and other related functions.
Your profile
You are a structured and technically strong engineer with a solid understanding of complete vehicle systems and customer adaptation solutions. You are comfortable working across different technical domains and collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
We see that you have:
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering or equivalent
Experience working with design within the automotive industry
Experience with tools such as KOLA, CREO, and AutoCAD
Good understanding of complete vehicle systems (cab, chassis, superstructure)
Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
Understanding of production processes, assembly, and logistics
Experience working with systems such as KOLA, KAP, EDB, Software Configurator, and ACAD
Ability to work with documentation, part numbers, and technical solutions
Fluent in English, both written and spoken

Geometry Assurance Engineer

We are looking for a Geometry Assurance Engineer to join our team and lead the optimization of part positioning, tolerances, and assembly processes for our automotive projects. In this role, you will ensure that geometric requirements are met throughout the product lifecycle, from design to manufacturing. You will collaborate closely with design engineers, manufacturing teams, and suppliers to secure robust and high-quality solutions.
Your Responsibilities
Lead and optimize robust part positioning to meet assembly process requirements and propose new processes or measurement methods when needed.
Optimize tolerances based on materials, manufacturing processes, concepts, and cost constraints.
Support design engineers in implementing part positioning and tolerances in 3DPMI and related documentation.
Create and update assembly and spare part drawings at delivery unit and pre-assembly levels, including positioning systems and tolerances.
Release drawings in PLM systems as design prerequisites and attach them to ESOW (Engineering Statement of Work).
Predict and validate geometric functional requirements at the complete body level using tolerance calculations in RD&T or Excel.
Evaluate measurement data in CM4D to ensure geometric compliance.
Provide feedback on subordinate systems to Robust Design Engineers for C-shop and participate in meetings to align demand levels.
Evaluate and address supplier feedback regarding tolerances and positioning systems.
Support manufacturing teams with root cause analysis and tolerance chain calculations.
Participate in optimizing split line positioning within the body and propose design and styling solutions to minimize geometric variation.
Continuously update and create 2D drawings in RD&T for different project gates and builds.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and lead decisions in cross-functional engineering meetings.
Identify and communicate geometric risks and define risk mitigation strategies.
Ensure data accuracy in relevant systems, including TCPLM and TCE.

Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Experience in tolerance analysis (e.g., using RD&T, Excel) and geometric documentation standards.
Strong knowledge of PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter).
Familiarity with 3DPMI & 2D drawings.
Experience in the automotive industry (preferably in body development).
Analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex geometric challenges.
Excellent communication skills in English, meritious with Swedish knowledge.
Experience with CATIA.
Familiarity with measurement data analysis tools (e.g., CM4D, RDnT).

Typical responsibilities:
Initiate and lead HW or SW development for ECUs.
Develop the product in collaboration with engineers, suppliers and customers
Coordinate cross-functional work to ensure product quality, delivery, product cost and smooth integration of systems
Create, modify, and release product documentation
Analyze and troubleshoot issues related to the systems and propose solutions
Secure testing and validation of the system to ensure compliance with industry standards

Who you are
You have a broad knowledge experience in developing electronics and writing technical requirements. You are comfortable owning and taking responsibility for your components, work proactively, and are quick to learn.
