About us
We focus on the remote functions of the Connected Experience with your Volvo car. We primarily  develop how you interact with your car from outside your car, like for instance using your phone as a key or starting the heater or even telling your Google home assistant that you want a warm and cozy car.

Who you are

Position description
As Vehicle Dynamics analyst in the V.A.S Technology Vehicle team you will take on the task of leading the development work of the dynamic vehicle models for both trucks and machines. Vehicle models are used in many ways within our organization and the needs differ from user to user. The objective is to make use of all the data we collect in our vehicles to secure the model quality in a systematic way. We target to have our reference models library in Modelica but depending on user needs other modelling environments will also be supported.


As leader of this development you will work closely together with the users to identify improvements and new needs to support the verification and validation work in the V.A.S organization. The role


We are proud to say that we are using the latest technologies delivering a very modern micro service based service platform hosted in the cloud. Of course we use agile methods and as we are adopting the DevOps model your work will cover a broad spectrum all the way from developing prototypes of future world class applications to managing the life cycle of the existing ones.
Develop software applications – both back-end and front-end
Deploy, operate and maintain our applications incl. driving continuous improvement of the same for better quality, functionality and cost effectiveness
Actively contribute to the solution design of new services
Last, but not at least, continuously reflect upon how we are doing things and where we can improve

Your profile


As a person, you are a team player with a positive mind-set and you know the various challenges of application development. A customer-oriented attitude is in your nature, you care about quality, allow yourself to be inspired, have a “can do” attitude and take pride in your work.


Your personality is your major reason for success, but we think you also have:
A university degree in software engineering, computer science or similar education
Minimum 3-Years’ Experience as Application Developer
Proficient of Java 8 and Spring
GraphQL, REST and deploying to AWS is considered as a huge plus
Experience in both front- & back-end
Knowledge in asynchronous programming, micro service architecture, cloud services, test automation frameworks
Knowledge in React, Webpack & Babel, Jest test framework if you are a front-end developer
Experience from mobile (connected) applications is also a great advantage
Fluent in English - both written and spoken
Valid work-permit for Sweden, if not EU-citizen

We are looking for a software tool developer with an interest in the embedded area to join our team! We are responsible for developing tools, systems and check models for our self-diagnosing framework for vehicles. We are looking for someone who is passionate about programming and a curious continuous learner. You should be an experienced programmer even if you are in the beginning of your career. It’s important for us that you can plan and drive your own work.

Experience needed

Embedded and/or automotive experience is a bonus, as well as interest in testing or data/test-driven development. Experience of working close to HW & HIL is a bonus for understanding the environment and the target product, for example our trucks. If you have experience of working with complex interlinked frameworks and software tools, you’ll have benefit from that in this role.

Mandate

·        Lead & coordinate architectural work in relevant forums and communities
·        Develop and maintain the architecture vision for diagnostic systems
