Volvo Energy is providing a highly qualified digital platform, an Energy Management System (EMS), to control our Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).


We are now looking for Senior OT Network & Systems Engineer that will support in establishing cyber secure connectivity towards BESS units and the BESS digital twin using the appointed Volvo Energy Site Controller.


As the energy space rely on standards for interoperability between energy systems, like Modbus, IEC 60870-5, 61850 and DNP-3, you make sure that the IoT Edge solution is designed according to cyber security standards. You also ensure cyber secure connectivity to the Volvo Energy EMS solution via MQTT/OPC-UA as defined by the Volvo Energy target architecture.


You will work closely together with several different qualified teams to help design and build the solution and report functionally to the Volvo Energy Head of Enterprise architecture.


Key Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll take the lead in shaping the OT network architecture that powers our BESS units around the world. You’ll design secure, scalable network environments—everything from segmentation and VLAN structures to DMZ zones and redundancy strategies—both for our own products and for customer sites. As the technical owner of our OT networking landscape, you’ll create and maintain clear, high?quality diagrams and documentation that bring structure to complex systems and ensure smooth integration with cloud platforms and external SCADA/EMS solutions.


A big part of your work will center around cybersecurity. You’ll define modern firewall rulesets built on IEC 62443 and zero?trust principles, validate safe communication paths for industrial protocols like Modbus, and take full responsibility for the lifecycle of our OT firewalls. That includes firmware updates, patching strategies, redundancy testing, vendor coordination, and the automated deployment of configurations across our global BESS fleet using FortiManager.


You’ll also play a hands-on role in our production environments—diving into troubleshooting, leading root?cause analysis, and contributing to cybersecurity assessments and audits that strengthen our defenses. Collaboration will be at the heart of your everyday work. You’ll partner with engineering teams at our assembly plants to ensure firewalls are configured correctly from the moment a unit is built, and you’ll work with Digital/IT teams to define secure, future?proof IT–OT demarcation points. Along the way, you’ll also share your expertise with junior engineers and project teams, helping them grow while raising the overall technical bar.


Required Qualifications
7+ years in OT networking, industrial networking, or cybersecurity engineering roles.
Strong experience with L2/L3 switching, routing, and industrial network design.
Hands-on experience with firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, or equivalent).
Solid understanding of industrial communication protocols (Modbus/TCP, IEC 61850, 60870-5, DNP3, MQTT and OPC-UA).
Experience with network automation or configuration as code approaches.
Familiarity with NERC CIP, IEC 62443, ISO 27001, or comparable cybersecurity frameworks.
Solid understanding of cyber security, data management and modern integration technologies
Experience from Agile development and DevOps practices
Strong technology interest - always interested in learning more
Ability to work in a heterogenous environment with several development teams, both inhouse and with players in the Digital Ecosystem.

About the Role
As a Framework Engineer at Volvo Autonomous Solutions, you’ll help shape the future of autonomous transport by enabling high-performance AI on cutting-edge hardware. Your focus will be neural network optimization, model acceleration, and deployment on embedded and edge platforms, ensuring our models run efficiently across GPUs, automotive-grade SoCs, and distributed systems.

About the role
The Embedded Software Architect has a holistic view of the complete Embedded SW development process including documentation and toolchains, as it relates to our partner’s product offering. The mission is to ensure a cost-effective and quality-secured Embedded SW development process as well as remaining compliant with Competition Law.
Responsibilities
• Build trust with key partner stakeholders by being a good business partner and actively looking after their interests, but also communicating concerns for Volvo interests towards the partner when needed.
• Ensure that the VT organization follows the process to document EUF requirements and use-cases as well as the system specification and modeling in SE-Tool and other relevant tools for partner product classes. In addition, to support the ‘Black Box’ strategy to only share information necessary to fulfill signed agreements. It is intended to use Disclosure Modeling to identify information that must be shared to the partner vs internal Volvo information.
• Ensure that the VT organization & responsible suppliers properly document delivery information (nodes, parameters, sub-hardware, MSWs, diagnostic objects, delivery notes, test results, etc) for each baseline release as agreed hand-over for ISUZU testing.
• Ensure partner developed ECUs and ESW follow the agreed process to document necessary information in Volvo systems that will enable ESW updates as well as Production and Aftermarket tool support and related services (ie, diagnostics, etc). Note: not necessary for agreed exclusions.
• Participate and support internal working groups for the KOLA Day 3 implementation as related to VT – Isuzu scope.
• Participate in Alliance WoW Reference Group as VT – Isuzu Partnership representative.
• Participate in internal Volvo VT ESW development process improvement forums (i.e., GTT SW Ecosystem) or minimum be aware of outcomes. Also, to propose relevant improvements for consideration by the Alliance TCT if they impact existing cross-company interfaces or processes/tools.
• Identify and initiate needed Volvo IT tool and system updates to support agreed ESW processes and strategies.
• Ensure Isuzu has the necessary information and interfaces to secure unique Android App development to be installed on-board the vehicle. It is intended for Isuzu to have more autonomous or independent development in this area (Service Platform) longer term, but will require some coordination and approval by Volvo. This will require Isuzu to follow processes similar to 3rd Party App developers.
• Prepare for future processes, tools and interfaces to support unique Isuzu service applications using Linux containers and/or Adaptive Autosar services to be installed on core HPCs.
• Continuously look for process improvements that support more Isuzu independent ESW development with fewer dependencies to VT development resources

In this role, you will take the lead in driving our quality and reliability excellence. You’ll be responsible for conducting thorough root cause analyses (RCA) on field failures, recurring issues, and safety?related incidents, ensuring that every challenge becomes an opportunity for improvement. Working closely with engineering teams, suppliers, and service partners, you’ll steer both corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) that strengthen our products and customer experience.

You will continuously monitor field performance data across markets, identify emerging reliability trends, and act as a key escalation point for complex technical quality cases. Your work will also play an important part in improving warranty cost control through structured containment measures and long?term prevention strategies.

Collaboration will be central as you support our supplier and partner quality governance, follow up on performance, and ensure we meet all safety, regulatory, and contractual quality standards. Most importantly, you will help transform insights and lessons learned into systematic service improvements—driving Volvo Energy forward as we power the future of sustainable transport.

Qualifications required to be successful
Experience in quality, reliability, or field engineering within BESS, renewables, power systems, or HV environments

What do we do?

Combustion Diagnostic Group is responsible for developing diagnostic strategies for combustion-related functions (fuel injection, air loop, cooling, and lubrication) for heavy-duty engines for the complete Volvo Group. 

We have many interesting challenges in front of us to develop diagnostic, monitoring strategies and state of health of components to comply with different emission legislations. We work according to agile principles in cross-functional teams. The teams work with the development of software design, implementation, and verification of OBD functions. Verification is performed in SIL, and HIL as well as on the engine or in vehicles. We are responsible for the entire development chain from early project phases to maintenance.

The role requires continuous engagement with key stakeholders to understand both short? and long?term requirements across multiple projects, define the strategic roadmap for the team, break down these requirements into actionable milestones, and guide the teams toward successfully achieving them.

We plan our work according to agile principles, where each team plans its activities in sprints and delivers solutions together as a team. We strive to have an open and honest environment within the teams, where it is easy to ask each other for support when needed. The tasks can be either part of a larger long-term project or short tasks to improve products currently in production. We work in a global and diverse organization in close cooperation with agile teams and other sites (Bangalore, Lyon , Curitiba). About the role:
We are now looking for a Business Office Coordinator (BOC) — a role that combines strategic coordination with executive support to the Regional Senior Vice President Region International.
VFS Region International includes 6 markets, and you’ll play a key role in driving alignment, efficiency, and execution of organizational priorities across the region.
In addition to managing cross-functional initiatives and serving as a trusted advisor, the role plays a key role in ensuring that the company adheres to regulatory requirements and upholds strong governance practices.

The engineers at Volvo group should focus on the technical challenges of our products and not be limited by shortcomings in development tools or processes. We at the Vehicle Architecture, as part of the Vehicle engineering department lead geometrical packaging studies on components to support product owners to finding good installations in the truck. This contributes to set the optimal platform and truck architecture in our vehicles.
As part of our daily work we have a close collaboration with other internal stakeholders to find the optimal concepts to build the future trucks.

Your future team
Your future team consists of members where main focus is geometrical packaging studies, but also handling Load Capacity, Fire Safety & Vehicle Dimensions.
We are a group of skilled engineers with different backgrounds and experiences such as experts in engine installation or radar & sensor installation. Some more experienced and other in the start of their career. Team spirit and a collaborative environment is key to our success.

In this role as a Geometrical Architect you will be leading the packaging studies and support the engineers to find the best solutions and secure those will work for Operations and Aftermarket.
We need a team member that can support the product updates by leading the packaging studies from early studies to later phases with main focus in early studies.
This means cross functional work with mainly engineers and representatives from manufacturing and aftermarket, but also other stakeholders are involved.

The role
In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the backbone of our data infrastructure. Your primary focus will be on data pipeline development, where you will design, develop, and maintain robust pipelines for uploading, ingesting, extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL/ELT) data from a variety of sources into our data lake. This includes implementing advanced ingestion techniques and managing multiple file formats, with a particular emphasis on time series data such as Mcap and MDF4.
You will also take ownership of database and data lakehouse management, architecting and maintaining both relational and non-relational databases to ensure scalable, high-performance data storage and retrieval. A key part of your work will involve designing and optimizing our Data Lakehouse solution to enable unified analytics, efficient governance, and seamless integration of structured and unstructured data. Ensuring robust security, access controls, and compliance across all data platforms will be a critical responsibility.
Maintaining data quality is essential, and you will participate in rigorous testing and monitoring to guarantee accuracy and integrity throughout all pipelines. Additionally, you will create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data pipelines and architecture, actively updating team resources in Confluence and contributing to roadmap discussions. Knowledge sharing and supporting ongoing maintenance within the team will be part of your day-to-day activities.

About the Role

Role Description
As a Function Developer and Function Owner within Vehicle Dynamics, you will be involved in all phases of development and maintenance of our interesting and complex end user functions connected to Electrohydraulic Steering systems. You will be the owner of some of our end-user functions and leading the development work in this area. 
The work consists of specification and review of function and SW requirements, but also development of new functions and customer features. You will support internal customers, the aftermarket, production and end customers. You will perform tests in vehicles as well as tests in virtual and real environment. You will be a part of developing the global roadmap for future functions and features. An important part of the role is also to fault trace in vehicles.
Your responsibilities will include:
•    Perform functional development meaning requirement breakdown, software design, documentation, implementation, testing and verification
•    Specify system/functional requirements and logic design breakdown

In this role, you will work closely with product, design, and development teams to drive digital solutions that improve how we plan, build, and track test objects across the product lifecycle – from procurement to physical testing.

• Support Product Managers and Designers in shaping and refining digital solutions related to test object planning, procurement, build tracking, and test readiness
• Help structure the backlog into clear, technically feasible items aligned with our AngularJS frontend and Java backend environment
• Contribute to early discovery efforts to assess technical implications and guide solution design
• Act as a bridge between business needs and technical delivery, ensuring alignment and clarity across stakeholders
• Collaborate closely with developers to support implementation, clarify scope, and help resolve technical challenges
• Mentor and guide team members, promoting technical excellence and continuous learning
