We are now looking for an Embedded Hardware Lead to join our Hardware Business Unit. In this role you will be the technical and operational leader in the team that owns all our electronic hardware platforms end-to-end - from concept, to first bring-up and all the way to production, market release and maintenance. You will architect and build our next-gen embedded solutions, ranging from telematics and vision processing to battery and motor control systems.

Needless to say, this role will have a huge impact on what Voi’s future product and technology offering will look like in the future. Working in the forefront of technology with everything from long-term strategies to coaching fellow engineers, this is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for the right candidate.



PREFERRED SKILL SET

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
- 10+ years of experience working with embedded hardware products, preferably within the IoT or cellular domain
- 2+ years of experience related to design and development of mass produced electronic devices
- Willing to take the lead, make strategic tech choices and drive design decisions
- Knowledge and experience of all stages of hardware development, from inception to schematics and PCB design to production of the physical products
- Experience with embedded devices that support over-the-air updates (FOTA)
- Familiar with resource constrained hardware, Data Structures, RTOS concepts and system architecture of embedded systems
- Familiar with IoT devices and protocols such as LWM2M, CAN, UART, TCP/IP, HTTP and MQTT
- Experience with embedded ARM platforms
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

Our growing scooter club is currently looking for a Structural Design Engineer to join our vehicle engineering team in Gothenburg. If you would like to play a key part in leading up one of Sweden’s hottest startups - this is the position for you!

You will take part in designing unique components and assemblies within the shared micromobility space, pushing the limits of what is possible. Working as a design engineer with extra focus on structural design and as our go-to for simpler concept and design verification studies by FEM-analysis - enabling the team to do quick concept studies and design iterations.

BACKGROUND

As Structural Design Engineer, you’ll be part of realising stunning new Voi vehicles which set us apart from our competitors. Work with innovative products and suppliers at the forefront of the micromobility field, with the explicit goal of creating sustainable product offerings.

You'll be part of our vehicle team in Gothenburg that handles engineering of new vehicles as well as R&D projects, case studies and evaluation of new and existing designs. The vehicle team is responsible for the complete electrical and mechanical design. Working within the vehicle team, you'll be part of taking vehicles from concept to being on the streets around the world!

THE POSITION

- Develop, design and own models and engineering drawings for new components and products.

- Evaluate team design concepts and ideas in the early stage of the design process by using FEM tools.

- A diverse design engineering role with focus on structural design.

- Leverage team resources to complete vehicle design that can be mass produced.

- Working closely with legislation and certification colleagues, to ensure compliance and quality of complete vehicles.

- Organise proof-of-concept studies to build working prototypes for validation.

- Work cross-functionally with other teams to develop a cleanly integrated product.

- Work with diverse teams in Sweden and China, including engineering (software, hardware and firmware), manufacturing, supply chain, operations, design and executive teams.



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering

- Minimum 5 years of mechanical design experience

- A flair for creative problem solving in a fast-paced startup environment

- Fabrication skill, hand tools, ability to prototype quickly

- Black belt in CAD

- Experienced with the FEM process for assemblies and components

- Understanding of construction methods and tooling options as it relates to volume of production

- Experience with product development from concept to validation and mass production

- Experience working with suppliers across the globe

- Be flexible to travel domestically and internationally according to business necessity, up to 10% of time



RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS

- Familiar with electromechanical assemblies: motors, sensors, PCBA’s, buttons, etc.

- Knowledge of best practices of cable routings

- Previous experience of working with die casted aluminium and injection molded plastics.

YOUR MISSION AT VOI

As a Backend Engineer, you’ll play a key role in Voi’s continued growth and success. The micro-mobility industry is constantly evolving and our teams are built cross-functionally to ensure that we have the best features and products to serve our customers. Our platform is based on microservice written in Golang, which we glue together using REST, gRPC and message queues. Agile is at the core of everything we do and you’ll find that our backend community consists of highly passionate and helpful developers. To put it into specifics, this is what you’ll be working on:

- Build and design scalable and reliable backend for our various products
- Work closely with peer teams (like DWH, data, IoT, Scooters), and business partners (like marketing, repairing services, logistics)
- Large scale data processing to understand user behavior and help define new product features
- Be creative and drive new ideas regarding architecture, tools, products and languages




WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO EMBARK

We believe that good engineers can switch and learn new languages and technologies, but to have the best start with us at Voi, we believe you have:

- 5+ years of backend engineering
- Cloud technologies like Kubernetes, cloud storage solutions and messaging queues
- Scalable cloud architecture
- Experience with working with data pipelines is considered a plus

Our growing scooter club is currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our vehicle engineering team in Gothenburg. If you would like to play a key part in leading up one of Sweden’s hottest startups - this is the position for you!

BACKGROUND

As Vehicle Mechanical Engineer, you’ll be part of realizing stunning new Voi vehicles which set us apart from our competitors. Work with innovative products and suppliers at the forefront of the micromobility field, with the explicit goal of creating sustainable product offerings.

You'll be part of our vehicle team in Gothenburg that handles engineering of new vehicles as well as R&D projects, case studies and evaluation of new and existing designs. The vehicle team is responsible for the complete electrical and mechanical design, including quality assurance of the finished product. Working within the vehicle team, you'll be part of taking vehicles from the concept phase to finished products that you can drive yourself!

THE POSITION



- Develop design models and engineering drawings for new products and leverage team resources to complete vehicle design.



- Organize proof-of-concept studies to build working prototypes for validation.



- Work cross-functionally with other teams to develop a cleanly integrated product.



- Work with diverse teams in Sweden and China, including engineering (software, hardware and firmware), manufacturing, supply chain, operations, design and executive teams.



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering



- Minimum 2 years of mechanical design experience



- A flair for creative problem solving in a fast-paced startup environment



- Fabrication skill, hand tools, ability to prototype quickly



- Solid CAD skills



- Understanding of construction methods and tooling options as it relates to volume of production

As a QA Engineer in our IoT Team you will be responsible for quality assurance of our IoT features to ensure they are properly tested before they are deployed to our vehicles in the markets.

In the role you will have the opportunity to over time take on the whole cloud-to-silicon quality assurance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Ensure new feature have a clear acceptance criteria and feature releases meet the usability criteria, are user-friendly towards different end users as well as error free



- Understand the challenge of distributed fleet and how to guarantee QoS under varying conditions that include varying network performance, location quality, different generations of vehicles



- Take lead in defining and implementing quality assurance and testing frameworks within the IoT and Hardware team



- Defining and implementing processes and frameworks for test automation and automated instrumentation of KPIs



- Taking responsibility for defining and driving the implementation of end to end test cases



- Define and drive bug handling process to ensure timely resolution and continuous improvement



- Co-design and develop the CI/CD processes across embedded and backend development teams



- Work with various frameworks and tools like QEMU, GitHub, RESTful APIs and frameworks.



PREFERRED SKILL SET



- Solid Understanding of acceptance testing, performance and robustness testing.



- Experience in testing the embedded applications both manually and with automated test cases.



- Experience in Scrum, scaled agile and associated support processes.



- Experience in testing methods such as TDD/BDD and software development life cycle in general.



- Demonstrated experience in using the Atlassian suite, CI/CD automation tooling as well as industry standard test frameworks.



- Experience and knowledge in remote deployment, remote testing and remote KPI monitoring concepts.



- Solid communication skills, being comfortable working in a very dynamic and collaborative work environment.



- Experience with visualization tools to baseline quality KPIs and track progress would be an advantage.

- 2+ years of experience related to design and development of mass produced electronic devices

Launched in August 2018, Voi is a Swedish micro mobility company offering electric scooter sharing in partnership with cities and local communities around Europe. We believe that light electric vehicles can be part in changing how people move in cities by providing a more sustainable and fun solution to traditional transport modes.
