We are looking for a Lead Scheduling Engineer to support our growing business within the Cerner International Program Management Office (PMO). As a Lead Scheduler, you will be responsible for developing and implementing program master schedules and processes for contracts with local, regional, and national government clients. You will own and manage the strategy and execution for the Schedule Team within the Cerner International PMO.


As the Lead Scheduling Engineer, you will be a vital member of the Cerner International Program Management Office (PMO). You will direct and manage the operational planning, organization, and maintenance of the program master schedules. You will be responsible for the creation of the overall Program Schedule Management Strategy. Background
This position is situated in Gothenburg, Sweden. In Sweden we are implementing our products in two of the three largest regions, helping over a third of the Swedish population. In the regions, “We are because we were,” meaning our relationships date back over 20 years with the clients and we deliver the current EMR systems. Our teams consist of specialists that manage both Millennium and the current live Swedish products. The Job
As a Director & Program Manager, you will be one of the main leaders in the program, responsible for ensuring the investment in the program achieves the anticipated benefits as outlined by the region. Your leadership team includes the Client Executive, an Engagement Executive, and other senior roles. You will be working mainly with the team in the region Västra Götalandsregionen VGR), but you will also be a part of the Nordic leadership team given the importance and impact of the role. You will report to the General Manager for Sweden. The program is hugely influential on both the regional healthcare system and a national Swedish level.
To be successful in the job it is crucial that you have held similar positions, i.e. complex full suite implementations (Acute + Ambulatory) with a large number of internal and external stakeholders, including political interests. The successful candidate should have proven success managing an implementation with multiple project managers – both internal and external – and a number of organizational units with separate leadership structures (i.e., numerous hospitals, primary care centers, laboratory, and home care in the same system). This includes creating, agreeing, and managing the end-to-end project plan in close connection with your client counterparts. You will have an understanding of organizational change management best practices and ensure the strategies are used for program success. You will lead, coordinate, and develop a team to manage the program over the implementation’s lifecycle. You must have strong communication skills with demonstrated competency sustaining positive relationships with client executives. You will have excellent presentation skills and be able to have an open dialogue with both Cerner and client executive leadership. Due to the nature of the project, the role demands a combination of strategic, tactical and operational responsibilities.
You will ensure project progress is communicated through a variety of mediums: leading status meetings, email/Teams communications, developing project presentations to ensure that information related to progress and issues/risks are being communicated with the appropriate stakeholders. You will work closely with cross-functional leaders including consulting, IP development, technology, sales, and support to ensure the program’s success.
Your work will be complex and vary in both strategic focus and tactical execution. This position requires a cross-functional individual who won’t miss the details but is strategic enough to see across the program, across the region, and across internal Cerner business units. You will identify opportunities for improvement and manage the implementation to improve program execution.
You should have a proven track record of working with leaders in large programs to create sustainable structures and governance that ensure program success. You should have experience in taking a systematic approach to breaking down large, complex problems and leveraging the structure of the program to resolve the issue. The program is entering a phase where structure and transparency are essential for success and your role will be to provide the leadership through this critical phase. You should have experience in adapting your style and approach to different situations and stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:

The new system will support clinical processes to manage the health of the region’s citizens providing clinicians with access to a modern integrated digital care system for increased patient participation, safer patient experience and improved work environment for healthcare professionals.

As a Senior Technology Architect, you will be working as part of a team of technical architects but central in ensuring that designs reflect business needs for the client, are compliant with the contract and can be delivered in the timeline for taking the various phases live. You’ll be working closely with project teams, client and Cerner and playing a key role in the Design Authority, prompting the appropriate infrastructure. You’ll be required to create infrastructure logical designs, based on solution architecture requirements. High availability, failover, DR and operational elements, such as support and maintenance considerations will need to be impacted as part of the design process and taking client end constraints into consideration as risks or opportunities for based on specifics such as proximity of data centres and resulting latency

The role will involve a considerable amount of documentation creating high-level and detailed design documentation, that support full project lifecycles, testing elements included that being configuration items that are handed over to service management.

As a Lead Integrated Technologies Owner, you will be accountable for manging the technical aspects of delivering highly complex multisite client projects working closely with the client in the provisioning of infrastructure required to host Cerner Millennium solutions. In addition to strong project management skills, although supported by technical architects, a certain degree of technical experience will be required. The role is very much client facing and you’ll be working closely with programme managers and solution architects, internal to Cerner and at the client end.

Planning:
You’ll be expected to produce detailed technical plans taking delivery of solutions from design, build, test, deployment, through to service handover.

A basic level of technical experience and knowledge of some of the following areas would be beneficial to the role: Data communications, Computing platforms, SAN &, Linux, Citrix, Oracle - RAC, Virtualisation, SSO.
