Who are we?
Everything we do starts with people. Our purpose is to provide freedom to move, in a personal, sustainable and safe way. We are committed to simplifying our customers’ lives by offering better technology solutions that improve their impact on the world and bringing the most advanced mobility innovations to protect them, their loved ones and the people around them.

Volvo Cars’ continued success is the result of a collaborative, diverse, and inclusive working environment. The people of Volvo Cars are committed to making a difference in our world. Today, we are one of the most well-known and respected car brands, with over 40,000 employees across the globe. We believe in bringing out the best in each other and harnessing the true power of people. At Volvo Cars your career is designed around your talents and aspirations so you can reach your full potential. Join us on our electrification journey as we create safe, sustainable and personal mobility of tomorrow.

Volvo Cars Indirect Procurement – Renewable Energy

The choices we make today define the world we live in tomorrow.
Volvo Cars have one of the most ambitious climate plans in the car industry. We aim to reduce our CO2 emissions per car by 40 percent between now and 2025, a first tangible step towards our long-term goal of becoming climate neutral by 2040. But we realize that electrification alone is not enough, and so our climate ambitions go beyond radically reducing tailpipe emissions through all-out electrification.

One impactful measure is to replace fossil energy with renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, biomass and biofuels. On our way towards sustainable production our next milestone is to reach 65% renewable energy for our fully owned operations across the world (offices, production sites, warehouses and logistics centers) by 2025. Volvo Cars` partnership with Northvolt and new battery production facilities plans are in motion, and this will also mean our need for energy will increase, providing further opportunity to turn our Renewable Energy strategy into action.

To ensure our climate plan becomes reality, The Indirect Procurement department seeks new talent that will play an important role in our journey towards our sustainability targets. We provide best in class procurement services to stakeholders within the company with different sourcing activities, supplier- market- and spend analysis, contract management as well as governance towards our current and potential suppliers. If you are the right person for this position, you will understand that this means so much more than filling a vacancy – it’s a chance to move the world and create big impact.

What you’ll do:
In this position you will be leading and supporting cross-functional sourcing projects within primarily Renewable energy. You will play an integral role into putting our renewable energy strategy into action. This includes strategy, execution, analysis, negotiation, supplier selection and contract management. You will support, develop and implement procurement and supplier strategies, create and maintain commercial relations with suppliers and stakeholders. You will be working proactively and closely with key business stakeholders to understand the market, supply base and potential innovation to find ways to increase value for Volvo Cars - including cost, sustainability and quality. You will also perform market analysis, prioritization and identification of optimal negotiation tactics. Lastly, you will dare to question status quo or decided routes with stakeholders, suppliers, people, and work proactively to build better understanding towards common solutions.

Your skills:
You have a university degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience from Energy related areas, namely buying, selling or being involved in projects to establish new renewable energy capacity on the market. You should have experience from entering into Power Purchasing Agreements (PPA) for energy and experience with EAC`s (Energy Attribute Certificates). You have a strong business acumen as well as an ability to shift between short term focus and long-term ambitions. You are a team player that leads by example and collaborates efficiently.

Do You fit the profile?
The mobility industry is changing rapidly, and the competitive environment and our company’s strategy might change fast. This means that you need to be able to embrace unknown future challenges and have the drive to make things happen in an environment where clearly established processes may not yet be in place. Most important is that you share our values, truly believe in and are motivated by our purpose and have an honest ambition to join a dynamic team that is deeply committed to transform and progress the consumer experience in the mobility industry at global scale.

How to learn more and apply:
Does this sound like your new challenge? Apply by submitting your resume and cover letter in English via our recruiting system SuccessFactors by no later than the 9th March 2022.
