The section Electrical Distribution System EDS, 94240, part of 94200 Electrical Distribution & Body Electronics, is responsible for the development of solutions for power distribution and wiring for all platforms in Volvo Cars product range. You work will work in cross-functional engineering teams including international development suppliers.

  

What´s in it for you?

As technical leader in the electrical distribution area you will have a technical responsibility over time for components, plastic and metal parts included in wiring harness.

 

You role will contain definition of requirements, time schedules and other pre-requisites to be used as base for the engineering work. You will also follow project deliveries from timing and quality perspectives.

You will ensure definition of requirements and balancing of these for the affected subsystems and components. You will lead development of subsystems and component solutions (time, technology, costs) Establish time schedules and follow up.

* Technical education at university in electrical or mechanical engineering or similar competence level achieved through working experience

* Experience in processes, systems and tools used for technical documentation and project management within Volvo Cars

The position, Harness Design Engineer, belongs to Bumpers and Tailgate team which is responsible for the in-house design and development of Tailgate, Rear/Front Bumpers, ETC adapter and other small harnesses. It belongs to the ART Electrical Infrastructure which is responsible for all EDS, Electrical Design, ELP and EMC related issues for all vehicle lines within Volvo Cars.

 

As a Harness Design Engineer, you will be challenged with designing and developing EDS harnesses from concept to industrial phases, up to product maintenance during production. Our components are build-to-print, hence we are working closely with other team members within the ART and suppliers, as well as interfacing with designers and developers outside the ART. The role also includes participating in concept studies and taking part at initiation of harness development. The role requires an agile mind-set, daily work with design and development and working environment where teamwork and team spirit is highly valued and appreciated.

 

What you´ll do

 

You will be focusing on design of EDS wiring harnesses, packaging of the wire harness and creating drawings and models of EDS harnesses. It is important to keep contact with suppliers regarding updates and changes, having strong team collaboration, as well as handle and determine possible redesigns to solve issues that are found in testing and even manufacturing. At the same time through out the process of design and development you will handle design related quality issues and try to solve them with the proactive attitude and collaboration with the team.

 

 Do you fit the profile

 

We are looking for you who has a degree in Mechanical, Electrical engineering or equivalent, with relevant working experience. You have knowledge about automotive harness design and development, as well as manufacturing. You possess expertise with CAD and have preferably working with Catia V5 (Electrical design) and CHS. If you have KDP and TeamCenter experience is beneficial, as well as if you have knowledge about Volvo Cars product development process and agile development process full SAFe configuration.

 

You have a positive attitude and like to be proactive, you possess the courage to take the initiative and drive for progress. To success in the role, you need to be comfortable taking initiative towards a common goal and be part of a team. Further, you are a great communicator, fluent in English, able to communicate with different stakeholders that interfacing your team.

We are looking for a personality that will bring in new ideas, customer focus and competence in our team in order for us to go along with our future vehicles.

Active Safety and Autonomous Drive consists of around 400 ambitious and skilled engineers who are responsible for everything from research and advanced engineering, all the way to implementation, verification and validation of current and future customer offers!

At our department, we work with different types of sensors which are some of the most important components in Active Safety. A large amount of sensors are placed inside the vehicle and collect information from its surroundings. The information is then processed through advanced signal processing, and the vehicle is able to apply a variety of functions thanks to this; everything from assessing potential danger around it to assisting the vehicle with autonomous driving. What you will be doing
In the role as an Analysis Engineer, your main responsibilities willl be to perform signal analysis in order to understand and verify the performance of current and future automotive sensor systems. You will support the design of new sensor system verification tools and verification methods as well as support performance-oriented planning of data collections. You will also be involved in the decision making regarding software improvements for sensor verification and analysis.

You and your background

In order to succeed in this role, you have at least a B.Sc in Control & Mechatronics, Signal & Systems, Embedded Systems, Software Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Electrical Engineering, Physics or similar, or equivalent working experience. You have good programming skills and experience from working in Matlab, C/C++, C# or similar programs, as well as experience from verification and analysis of sensors. Swedish driver’s license is a requirement as well as fluency in English, both spoken and written.

It is a benefit if you have experience from the Automotive Industry of Driver Assistance Systems or Environment Perception. It is also meritorious if you have a background from mathematics, estimation techniques, digital signal processing or specification of sub system. Antoher advatage is if you have previous working experience from Software Testing and have knowledge in ISO26262 as well as experience from working in an agile environment.

What you’ll do

You will be working in one of the teams in our agile environment which is just getting into life in our group. Fast changes and proactivity are part of our daily work, we are working with the flow according to current needs and development of the product.

You will be ensuring packaging of the Front seats, meeting environmental standards and design demands. You will take on the responsibility for all investigations and technical inputs towards internal departments and suppliers. The solutions for design details will be done by the suppliers, hence strong collaboration with them will be the key to common success. You will continuously perform CAD investigations and review the status of the product, in order to maintain correct status of the design and drawings in the system.

You and your skills

You have M.Sc./B.Sc degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics engineering or several years of relevant experience in automotive industry. Proficiency in Catia V5 are the key to perform in this role. It would be an advantage to have TeamCenter and Volvo Product Development Process knowledge, hence working experiences with our company. It is beneficial to have car seats development knowledge or at least interior design experience within automotive industry. English is however mandatory as it is our company language and it would be a merit to have a driving license “B”, to be able to drive and experience our final products.

You have a broader technical understanding, courage and a passion for success. The role demands you to be decisive, have a high degree of personal order and self drive. Self-sufficiency and inclusive attitude with to-do mind-set is an asset that will bring you success in this position.

Vi söker nu en projektledare/Delprojektledare inom området Manufacturing Engineering Realization. Notera att positionen kommer vara belägen i Skövde.

Vad kommer du att utföra
* Driva Projekt/ Delprojekt för industrialisering och kvalitetssäkring av nya produkter.
* Leda och styra projektgrupper med tvärfunktionella resurser för att nå uppsatta mål.
* Gäller både skärande bearbetning och/eller automatiseringar och/eller montering.
* Utreda och utveckla nya högeffektiva produktionsprocesser tillsammans med externa utrustningsleverantörer.
* Effektivisering av befintliga och nya produktionsprocesser inom motorproduktion.
* Ansvara för investeringsplanering och utrustningsanskaffning för tilldelade projekt.

Du och dina färdigheter

För att trivas i denna roll och kunna prestera på bästa sätt tror vi att du har en god ledarförmåga och är förtroendegivande. Det är viktigt att du kan planera och prioritera ditt arbete, du tar ansvar, driver och lägger stort fokus på kvalitet i allt du utför. Eftersom du kommer arbeta med projekt ser vi gärna att du har goda kunskaper om arbetsprocesser, metoder och verktyg inom produktionsberedning och produktutveckling.

Du har en högskoleutbildning, 180 p eller motsvarande utbildning och/eller dokumenterad erfarenhet inom området. Du har erfarenhet eller utbildning inom LEAN samt god datorvana och har möjlighet att resa internationellt. Du har en god förmåga att formulera dig i både tal och skrift på svenska och engelska och du värdesätter även detta gentemot kollegor och dina medarbetare. What you’ll do

You will lead the local FM Operations (i.e. Building Related Services (Hard), User Related Services (Soft) within FM scope, spaceplanning, engineering and local projects) to the most productive uses to our customers.

You will be responsible for creating, maintain and execute 5 year maintenance plan including prioritization, risk assessments of proposed actions and final agreement with Site/Function Management on yearly plans.  The right candidate will contribute to the development and optimization of FM Standards and Services together with Regional and Global FM.

 

As our Head of FM Gothenburg are you responsible for leading local forums with suppliers and internal customers and drive efficiency through challenge the suppliers, with own high skills and by learnings from colleagues in Regional and Global FM

You will have close dialogues with users and Site/function management regarding changes, plans and goals as well as gather local user feedback and create action plans to improve user satisfaction.

You will also organize work with internal/external resources to meet objectives, short and long term, in an efficient manner and make sure to utlilize assigned resources effectively to add value to the business.

 

Other important tasks are
* Financial Control – budget including forecast and ordering
* Contact with local authorities

 

 

Collaboration is key and you will work in close cooperation with all areas within Volvo Car Group.

The Cost Estimating Department is now searching for a Cost Engineer for electronics for the Electrical team. These areas are highly dynamic areas where we work with the buyers, Research & Development teams and also with our suppliers and sub-suppliers. Estimating cost for electronic parts is done with both engineering and business mind-set, i.e. by analysing actual hardware/technical and commercial prerequisites to understand what requirements are driving cost. The role gives the possibility to deep-dive into new technology and the electronics in vehicles, which are in a dynamic phase where new functions are designed into future cars.

Your main responsibilities include the strive to make sure that Volvo Car Group always gets value for money when purchasing parts, by estimating right cost level (Bill of Material and production process) and supporting with negotiation arguments to the buyer. Moreover, you will support engineering with cost estimates to improve design decisions with cost perspective.

 

The position includes some international travelling to suppliers’ manufacturing sites to review the production processes from a cost perspective as well as Volvo’s offices and plants in different locations.

 

Do you fit the profile?
 

We believe that you have a technical university degree, preferably in electronics, or relevant working experience. Moreover, you are fluent in English, both spoken and written. Experience of electronic components design/engineering and/or purchase/supply chain management/sales with electronics involved are an advantage. The Body Functions ART has responsibilities that stretches from early phases until launch of new cars, and it involves development of customer functionality, system design, verification, hardware design and software development. What you’ll do

You will work with exterior light modules and coordinate all activities related to the software development and maintenance of these modules. The work includes planning and implementation of software changes cross vehicle projects.
 

You will, together with system designer and component task leader, establish the technical solution and synchronize the software time plan. You will act as an interface for integration of supplier and in-house software in order to secure that design prerequisites are fulfilled and developed according to the project time plan, you will be the one creating an alignment.

 

You will be the technical contact for all issues related to the software of the components .You will review software documentation from suppliers and manage software requirement specification and release necessary software documentation for the components. You will manage the software build environment and configuration for calibration. Last, but not least, you will participate in software development within the team

  

Do you fit the profile?

We see that you have a degree within Electronics, Computer, Engineering Physics or equivalent. You have knowledge of software build environments and calibration tools as well as experience in C-code programing for embedded systems.
 

If you have knowledge in Automotive Functional Safety Standard (ISO26262), Autostar, microcontroller resource estimations and calculations or of XCP/ETK it is beneficial. You need to be fluent in English and hold a B driving licence.

What's in it for you?
As a CFD Engineer you will work within the Tightness group that has overall objective to secure analysis and verification activities in vehicle development projects. The department is responsible for Vehicle Engineering assignments from concept study to production start. The team leads analysis and verification across P&Q for virtual and physical vehicle in all projects.

What you’ll do

You will create clean cad models for doing CFD and support in delivering mesh models for doing Fluid and Air flow simulations. You will specify
and order physical and virtual test objects as well as lead verification plan and perform in Team center. You will be responsible for taking lead in a project verification. 

Do you fit the profile?

You have an Univeristy degree in Engineering or similar corresponding knowledge obtained by practical experience. You have good knowledge in STAR CCM, CATIA, TEAMCENTER and PREON LAB as well as good knowledge from the overall product development process from automotive working methods CFD, planning, analysis & verification. What do we offer?

The group Engine Control are involved early in the development of new powertrain concepts and its software where we have a big impact on vehicle behaviour. We are responsible for Engine Protection and Fluids Control and now we are in an expansive phase, due to transition to in-house SW development.

You will perform SW tests at bench as well as in vehicle and analyse/conclude test results. You will be the “go to” person within the group regarding SW implementation and SW structure issues.

We see that you have a degree or similar experience in the field of Math/Physics/Computer. You are experienced in Matlab, experience from Simulink and QTronics Silver/TestWeaver is meritorious. You are fluent in English and holds a driving licence B.

Performing reviews and providing documents to supplier as well as handling software defect reports in issue management systems are important tasks in this role.

Vad erbjuder vi?

Tillsammans säkerställer vi tillgänglighet i anläggningar, utrustningar och utvecklingsverktyg inom produktutveckling. Avdelningen består av tre grupper, en strategisk som driver underhållets tekniska verksamhet och tekniska styrning I syfte att optimera utrustningarnas tillgänglighet och kostnader. Gruppen medverkar i projektens tidiga faser för att bevaka de kritiska underhållsparametrarna.

De andra två grupperna är operativa och det är till gruppen med inriktning mot process - el och automation, som vi nu söker en underhållstekniker. Där kommer du, tillsammans med dina kollegor, att ansvara för att samverka med kund för det förebyggande, avhjälpande och modifierande underhållet på den komplexa utrustningsparken som finns på produktutveckling. Vi arbetar dagtid med flex/kvällsarbete och beredskap var 5:te vecka.

Vad kommer du att göra?

Du arbetar i huvudsak med förebyggande, avhjälpande och modifierande underhåll på utrustningar och provriggar. Du initierar och deltar aktivt i analys av störningar i syfte att identifiera rotorsaker och passande permanenta lösningar. Du övervakar processanläggning i Tac Vista och Keytalk.

        De teknikområden du främst jobbar inom är:
* Ventilation
* Kyla
* VVS
* Automationssystem

 
Du kommer att få möjligheten att arbeta med förbättringar från idé fas till genomförande. Du återrapporterar ditt arbete i underhållssystemet Maximo.

The software developers in the group work with creating a new configuration management system using GIT/Gerrit, supporting continuous integration, build framework, and design tools. The framework is provided to the electric propulsion development teams used by both application developers and testers creating the outstanding next generation Volvo product. You will do a lot of programming in different languages such as Python, scripting in Make. You will work as a part of a team developing the in-house tools including the building blocks needed for the CI chain.

 

There will be a high level of cooperation with the development teams creating ECU software working in an agile setup and you will assist the improvement work around software test strategies and methods.

You have a passion for programming and strive for continuous integration and scripting and are excellent in programming in languages such as Python. Job Purpose
You are a customer-obsessed leader for your consumer-facing digital product within Care by Volvo, and are accountable for its success. You will create the long-term product vision, tactical product release strategy, and drive execution of product releases, working closely and collaboratively with other key functions within Care by Volvo like marketing, brand, offer teams in addition to our technology organization.

 

What you’ll do

You will lead a product team consisting of Engineers, UX specialists, Analysts and Scrum master. Develop product strategy and define product roadmap based on an integrated understanding of customer behavior, business direction, anticipated market trends and the possibilities of technology.  You will communicate strategy and roadmap to stakeholders and your product team, getting input and buy-in.

Responsibilities also include writing narratives, use cases, user stories and requirements to enable the product planning process. Driving sprint planning & review including feature prioritization; champion these decisions with internal stakeholders in global, regional and market roles. Lead release planning and testing processes for global products efficiently and effectively. Lead "build vs buy" trade-off decisions where applicable

* Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and associated tools preferred

At our department, we work with different types of sensors which are some of the most important components in Active Safety. What you will be doing
In the role as an Analysis Engineer, your main responsibilities willl be to perform signal analysis in order to understand and verify the performance of current and future automotive sensor systems. You will support the design of new sensor system verification tools and verification methods as well as support performance-oriented planning of data collections. You will also be involved in the decision making regarding software improvements for sensor verification and analysis.

You and your background

In order to succeed in this role, you have at least a B.Sc in Control & Mechatronics, Signal & Systems, Embedded Systems, Software Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Electrical Engineering, Physics or similar, or equivalent working experience. You have good programming skills and experience from working in Matlab, C/C++, C# or similar programs, as well as experience from verification and analysis of sensors. Swedish driver’s license is a requirement as well as fluency in English, both spoken and written.

It is a benefit if you have experience from the Automotive Industry of Driver Assistance Systems or Environment Perception. It is also meritorious if you have a background from mathematics, estimation techniques, digital signal processing or specification of sub system. Antoher advatage is if you have previous working experience from Software Testing and have knowledge in ISO26262 as well as experience from working in an agile environment.

To plan, monitoring and secure the teams deliveries to each project as well as reporting status and deviations from the agreed time, technology and cost frames to project and line management. You will be responsible for summary and report the complete teams deliveries and action plans prior to project gates. You need to be pro-active to secure a good status on all deliveries. You and your skills

Your communication skills will have a huge impact on your collaboration and relationship with stakeholders on different level and various connected areas. You are of course fluent in MS Office programs and willing to learn all additional tools needed to perform your job according to expectations. You will be daily using tools like LEQM, Lotus Notes, KDP, VPC-process, CAD/BOM, DPA0. It is a plus if you have basic understanding and knowledge of Catia and TeamCenter.

You need to be fluent in English, verbal and written, however Swedish would be a merit. It is desired to have a driving license “B”, valid in Sweden. If you have been in contact with agile set-u is beneficial.

What we do
At Procurement, you are part of a global team with the mission to develop and maintain a world-class supplier base. Summer internship at Volvo Cars

Who are we?

Volvo Cars is preparing for challenges regarding occupant protection in future traffic environments. An important factor in this context is gathering knowledge on how occupants use our vehicles today or how they use concept vehicles during development studies. In this field, refined methods are needed to quantify sitting postures on a detailed level but also over time during normal drive. With this knowledge, the range of sitting postures relevant as initial conditions for crash analyses may need to be extended. In this way, the sought sitting postures will be an important part of the tool chain needed for future vehicle safety.

What you'll do

During the internship, the student will be part of a team that develops novel methodologies for automatically describing sitting postures based on sensor data that was previously collected. These datasets contain kinematic data of car occupants during normal drive. In the work, you will continuously communicate with the development team, safety experts at Volvo Cars Safety Centre and other stakeholders within Volvo Cars.

You will be evaluating machine learning methods and developing methods for processing data in different languages such as Python. You will work as a part of big data team developing the in-house methods based on deep learning needed to describe occupant positions and kinematics.

There will be a high level of cooperation with the development teams working in an agile setup and you will assist the improvement work around software development.

Who are you?
* You have a passion for programming and strive for continuous integration and scripting and are excellent in programming in languages such as Python, scripting in any other language is a plus.

Join us as System Designer within the High Voltage Charging and Power Supply team that delivers solutions to provide and control power from the electric grid to the high and low voltage system in the vehicle. We are responsible for the development of competitive charging solutions for on-board charger, DC/DC converters, wireless charging, charging wall boxes and charging cables. The team is the core competence centre in Northern Europe in regards to Charging solutions. The on-board charger (OBC) is essential for electrified vehicles, it holds the functionality to charge the traction battery from the grid, and it is for sure of highest importance in a pure electric vehicle. Both AC- and DC-charging are in current projects and wireless charging is already around the corner. The DC/DCs convert energy from the traction battery to the low voltage system for suppling all the 12/48V power consumers in the car.

What you’ll do:

In this position, you as System Designer will be part of an engineering team that develops engineering system solutions for on-board chargers (OBC) and DC/DC that fulfil requirements and manufacturing process demands within decided cost and time frames. Working with charging interoperability is also an important part of this role. You will work in a cross-functional environment with other departments within Volvo Cars Product & Quality. The work demands a personality that drives tasks effectively and finds ways to implement the best possible solution.

The position of a System Designer means responsibility for the charging system solution in the car, which is the result of deep discussion and collaboration with different attribute and function owners. The System Designer is responsible to develop a system fulfilling the agreed system solution within the project. Your main role on this position is to assure that solutions comply with all agreed requirements by function owners, legal and insurance requirements and other attribute owners.

Do you fit the profile?

We believe that you have a BSc/MSc or several years of relevant experience. You should have system management experience, i.e. HW and SW development within automotive industry. Moreover, you are fluent in English, written and spoken, and have a valid Driver’s license B.

Experience from agile development as well as experience from FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) are meritorious. Furthermore, knowledge within data communication protocols for example CCS, Chademo and GB/T and experience from ISO 26262 are an advantage. What you’ll do

The position within the ART ICE Calibration (Internal Combustion Engine) is part of Vehicle Propulsion. We in the team, Diesel Aftertreatment Calibration are responsible for Aftertreatment controls calibration in diesel engines. The team calibrate and verify strategies and software for related areas.

We are now looking for an analytical and self-driven Data and Analysis Controls Engineer to strengthen our team.

What you’ll do:

A DACE in our section lead the development of best-practice methods for data collection, analysis and simulation/modelling and support the team in applying them. You will perform analysis in projects, quality issues (e.g. DRO) and other ad hoc analytical tasks. Moreover, you will create and maintain development tools as well as advise and educate colleagues for using new methods and tools. Being a competence center for data analysis and participating in the model-based optimization community will also be a part of your work.

We believe that you have at the minimum a M.Sc. in Engineering with modeling and data experience. Having experience in Matlab/Simulink and/or Python as well as model based calibaration experience is an advantage. Electrical Systems Integration & Development (94900) within the unit Vehicle Software & Electronics (94000) is responsible for integration of the complete electrical system in VCC vehicle programs and the electrical development process. In Electrical Systems Integration, we plan and track functional implementation and we lead integration activities to secure software releases to verification in vehicle programs and to running production. The department consists of Integration Leaders, Software Configuration Managers, Test Engineers, Advanced Fault Tracers and HIL Engineers. We run program management and we offer MIL, HIL and Boxcar rigs for the complete electrical system.

SW&E System Test (94913) is a group within Electrical Integration (94910) responsible for testing of customer functions and system behavior on a high system level as well as system analysis of complex problems during integration events prior to SW releases. We are in an expansive and focused area and there is a great opportunity to affect the direction the development of responsibilities and methods.

What you’ll do

As a Test Engineer, you will work with testing of the complete electrical system of our new electrical platform to secure function and a robust system. Working as Test Engineer on the complete electrical system means that you will establish and develop relationships with designers and test engineer within different system areas of the complete vehicle as well as building an understanding of the designs within those areas. In early stages, testing will be performed in rigs, box cars and HIL. We create test scripts for automated tests and we also do manual testing in complete vehicles. You will be responsible for:
* Complete electrical systems verification to confirm usage and maturity for SW releases
* System tests and troubleshooting on all electrical systems
* Fault tracing support during Integration Events
* Development of processes, methods and tools
* Report test results to projects and the organization

Do you fit the profile?

We believe you have at least a B.Sc or several years of work experience in relevant field. You have experience from working with system testing and good knowledge of programming test scripts. You will test the cars’ electrical features, both in the actual car and in rigs. You will create test scripts for automated test in rigs and also do manual testing in both rigs and cars.  You have a driver’s license B and are fluent in English, written and spoken.

It is meritorious if you have vehicle knowledge on a complete vehicle level, good general knowledge of base technologies within HW/SW Platform as well as HW/SW testing and testing tools. Experience from electrical architecture, signal configuration, communication, diagnostics and software download will also be a benefit, as well as experience from CANalyzer, CANoe and Volvo Diagnostic tools.

Your mission

In this role you will work in software development team, with software test engineers and developers, getting a broad experience of electric drive systems, including both hardware and software.

You will collect data using test tools, analyse and verify them. You will use Elektra structured workflow and tool chain, and continuously develop working processes and procedures.

You and your skills

You have M.Sc. degree in Computer science, Electronics, Mechatronics or equivalent with relevant work experience. Besides your strong background, you have genuine interest in cars and have experience in automotive industry.

Tools you need to have expertise with are CANoe, CANalayzer, DSA, INCA MDA, as well as CAN for network communication. It would be beneficial to understand the functional safety standard, ISO 26262, having hardware knowledge in embedded systems, like sensors, electric machines, inverters.

It is beneficial if you have been utilizing scrum methodology before to be easier for you to get into the SAFe framework. You are fluent in English, written and spoken, have been working in international environment before and are ready to join few exhibitions on yearly bases. To be able being part of in car testing, you also need a valid driving license “B”, valid in Sweden.
