We are looking for a Junior Digital Hardware Designer to join our Microwave & Digital Design team in Gothenburg. You will be part of the development of MINI-LINK, a key product within Ericsson’s wireless backhaul portfolio.
MINI-LINK is a microwave network node delivering market-leading performance, driven by the rapid evolution of smartphones, IoT, and next-generation mobile networks. Our unit holds full design responsibility for MINI-LINK indoor units as well as outdoor mmWave products. This includes both the development of new hardware and the maintenance of released products.

What you will do:
As a junior digital hardware designer, you will work closely with experienced engineers and gradually take on more responsibility.

Your main tasks will include:

* Contribute to schematic design and PCB development under the guidance of senior engineers.
* Support pre- and post-layout simulations and participate in board and product verification.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as layout, power, mechanical, and thermal design to ensure optimal system performance.
* Participate in hands-on troubleshooting and verification in the lab.
* Use lab equipment such as power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers.

We invite applications for an industrial PhD (iPhD) position at Ericsson Research in Gothenburg, Sweden, performed in collaboration with Chalmers University of Technology. The position is a permanent employment with Ericsson. As an industrial PhD (iPhD) you will be employed by Ericsson while also enrolled in the doctoral programme in Electrical Engineering at Chalmers to carry out a research project leading to a doctoral degree. The doctoral studies typically take about 4–5 years. During this period you will work as an iPhD within the Chalmers doctoral school while remaining continuously employed by Ericsson. What you will do:
Ericsson Research develops and evaluates new concepts and standards for future mobile communications. This project explores using a Radio Digital Twin (RDT) to improve spectrum sensing and enable dynamic spectrum sharing for 6G and future networks. The RDT will model radio propagation and spectrum usage in a given area by combining integrated sensing and communications (ISAC) data from infrastructure and devices.
The goal is to develop methods that efficiently share spectrum while protecting incumbents such as satellites, LEO constellations, fixed links, automotive radar, and Earth observation stations, using techniques from signal processing, communications theory, optimization, and AI. You will join the Wireless Systems team, supervised academically and industrially. As an iPhD candidate you will typically spend around three years on independent research and approximately one year completing doctoral coursework, with teaching duties limited to about 10% of your time. Research outcomes are expected to be published in peer-reviewed venues, and successful completion of the doctoral degree leads to continuation as a researcher at Ericsson Research. About the Opportunity

Connectivity is a fundamental building block of the digital transformation across society and industries. What you will do:
This specialist position mainly focuses on packet core network architecture, protocols and signaling, and interworking with surrounding domains (e.g. RAN, UE, CS/IMS, OSS, AF, non-3GPP access, etc.) The Specialist position shall provide competence and knowledge on packet core network application interworking from E2E perspective.
