Forskningsassistent för forskning med ålgräs

Introtext: 
Institutionen för marina vetenskaper (https://www.gu.se/marina-vetenskaper) vid Göteborgs universitet har med sitt breda vetenskapliga kompetensområde och sin unika infrastruktur den mest kompletta miljön för marin forskning och marin utbildning i Sverige. Endast ett fåtal liknande organisationer finns i Europa. Genom avancerad forskningsinfrastruktur och verksamhetens tydliga koppling till samhällets behov och utmaningar bidrar institutionen till nya lösningar på de globala utmaningar som rör havet.

Institutionen för marina vetenskaper bedriver forskning, utbildning och innovation relaterad till havet och dess resurser. Verksamheten bedrivs förutom i Göteborg även på forskningsstationerna Kristinebergs marina forskningsstation och Tjärnö marina laboratorium, samt på forskningsfartyget Skagerak. Institutionen har en tvärvetenskaplig bredd som omfattar marin biologi, marin kemi, marin geologi, marin kulturvård och oceanografi, och forskningsområden spänner geografiskt från kust till världshav. Våra forskare och studenter har ofta framträdande roller i internationella expeditioner till Antarktis, Arktis, och de stora världshaven, men arbetar också i våra nybyggda laboratorier med avancerad utrustning och komplexa analysmetoder. Institutionen har också en bred utbildningspalett, inkluderande ett kandidatprogram, tre mastersprogram och forskarutbildning inom det marina området.

 

Arbetsuppgifter 
Institutionen för marina vetenskaper söker en forskningsassistent för arbete inom flera forskningsprojekt som rör ålgräs, både i fält och i laboratoriet, inom forskningsgruppen Zorro (http://www.gu.se/forskning/zorro). En av forskningsassistentens huvudsakliga uppgifter är att ansvara för fältprovtagning med hjälp av flygande drönare och dropvideo för miljöövervakning av ålgräsets utbredning längs Västkusten. Arbetet inkluderar planering och organisering av fältprovtagningen, transport och sjösättning av mindre båt med trailer längs hela kusten, samt provtagning av vegetation under intensiva fältperioder på sommarhalvåret, vilket kan medföra övernattning på annan ort. I arbetsuppgifterna ingår även arbete med GIS för att analysera drönarbilder och att klassificera vegetation, samt att sammanställa resultaten i rapporter.

I arbetet ingår också arbete med flera andra forskningsprojekt som rör grundforskning, restaurering och förvaltning av grunda kustmiljöer, med fokus på ålgräs och havsöring. Arbetsuppgifterna kan omfatta provtagning av sediment och vegetation under vatten med hjälp av snorkling, provfiske och märkning av laxfiskar, arbete med experiment i laboratoriet samt analys av prover under stereolupp. Vidare kan arbetet inkludera sammanställning och analys av data samt att hjälpa till att skriva rapporter och publikationer. Arbetet utgår från Göteborg, men kan under kortare perioder innebära resor.

Om oss Enheten Mikrobiologi och hygien tillhör avdelning Livsmedel på RISE. Vi i arbetar med forskning och innovation inom mikrobiologi, processhygien och bioteknik, med huvudfokus på livsmedel och livsmedelsindustri. Inom enheten arbetar vi främst med tillämpad forskning, utveckling och problemlösning i uppdrag för att stötta företag och partners. Om rollen I rollen som forskare kommer du att initiera, skapa och driva egna projekt inom tillämpad forskning, i nära samverkan med kollegor och externa parter. Du kommer att ha en projektledande roll som innefattar projektekonomi och -administration, samt planera och leda det praktiska projektarbetet. Du kommer även att bidra med expertis och erfarenhet i andras projekt, samt att till viss del leda kommersiella uppdrag mot kund. En viktig del av rollen är att bidra till tillväxt inom vår forskningsverksamhet, detta genom att aktivt söka anslag för att säkra finansiering. Du förväntas bygga en projektportfölj inom ditt område där det finns möjlighet att styra projektskapandet i en riktning som passar just dina kompetenser och intressen, men inom de strategiska ramarna för organisationen, med fokus på att möta samhällets och marknadens behov. · Dokumenterad erfarenhet av projektfinansiering genom ansökningar och anslag från offentliga finansiärer
· Erfarenhet av projektledning inom forsknings-, utvecklings eller innovationsprojekt med flera parter, från industri och akademi
· Mycket goda kunskaper i engelska i tal och skrift

Klusterledare för f3 – Innovationskluster för förnybara drivmedel
f3 Innovationskluster för förnybara drivmedel är en nätverksorganisation med bakgrund i ett långt forskningssamarbete kring systemfrågor för förnybara drivmedel. I f3 deltar industri, högskolor, institut och myndigheter. Tillsammans skapar medlemmarna nya samarbeten, ökar kunskapen och identifierar hinder och möjliga lösningar för en faktisk och snabb omställning till förnybara drivmedel i transportsektorn. Innovationsklustrets medlemmar finansierar nätverket tillsammans med Energimyndigheten, och det leds av värdorganisationen Chalmers Industriteknik.
Vi söker nu en klusterledare för f3 som ska ansvara för att leda f3:s arbete.
f3 har ingen politisk agenda och bedriver heller inte lobbyverksamhet rörande specifika drivmedel eller systemlösningar eller för sina medlemmars respektive intresseområden.
Arbetsuppgifter
Som klusterledare kommer du att leda f3:s löpande verksamhet, vara drivande för att utveckla samverkan inom klustret och med andra aktörer inom området samt ha en nyckelroll i planering och genomförande av klustrets samtliga aktiviteter. Arbetet genomförs gemensamt inom f3:s kansli och i nära samverkan med klustrets medlemsorganisationer, Energimyndigheten och andra samarbetsorganisationer.
Dina huvudsakliga arbetsuppgifter är inom f3:s kansli men du förväntas även delta i Chalmers Industritekniks uppdrag inom energiområdet.
Inom f3 kommer du till exempel att:
Leda arbetet vid kansliet, vilket, förutom av dig, består av kommunikatör och senior projektrådgivare.
Utveckla och driva samarbetet mellan f3:s medlemmar.
Aktivt följa teknik, forskning och politisk utveckling kopplat till förnybara drivmedel och omställningen av transportsektorn samt, baserat på detta, bidra till utveckling av kunskapshöjande material och aktiviteter.
Samverka och kommunicera brett om innovationsklustrets verksamhet samt om hållbara förnybara drivmedel generellt.
Ansvara för f3:s budget och ekonomiska uppföljning.
Ansvara för rapportering gentemot finansiärer och medlemsorganisationer.

Vi söker dig som
Har djup och bred kunskap och erfarenhet inom, samt ett stort intresse och engagemang för utvecklingen av hållbara förnybara drivmedel och en hållbar transportsektor.
Har chefserfarenhet eller erfarenhet av att leda större projekt/program.
Har erfarenhet av forskning och/eller produktutveckling inom industrin i samverkande projekt mellan olika typer av parter.
Har arbetat med budget och resultatansvar.
Har minst en masterexamen inom relevant område.
Talar och skriver flytande svenska och engelska.

Vi ser gärna att du har erfarenhet av att arbeta med myndigheter, i EU-projekt, kompetenscentrum, institut eller liknande strukturer. Det är meriterande men inget krav att du har disputerat.
Du är initiativtagande och intresserad av att leda i både formella och informella strukturer. Du har en god samarbetsförmåga, då du som klusterledare är länken mellan intressenter som akademin, näringslivet och myndigheter. Du skall kunna driva arbetet framåt utifrån f3s och de olika medlemsorganisationernas intressen för att nå uppsatta mål. QRIOS are now looking for an Assoc. Princ. Scientist Bioscience with knowledge of in vivo experimental biology to join the Bioscience Renal in vivo team within the Early Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolism (CVRM) therapeutic area. This is a consultant assignment at AstraZeneca’s dynamic R&D site in Gothenburg, Sweden.


About the position
As Assoc. Princ. Scientist with the Bioscience department at AstraZeneca you will be part of a vibrant team that focus on finding new treatment options to patients with renal disease. In the in vivo team we work with various pre-clinical models and different drug modalities. You will take part in in vivo deliveries to drive the renal pipeline. At AstraZeneca you will work together with experts from different functions and be part of project teams.

Responsibilities
• Independently design, plan and perform high quality in vivo experiments in preclinical models of renal disease
• Identify and implement new models/assays relevant for renal disease area
• Analyse fluids for biomarker quantification
• Perform conceptual interpretation and presentation of generated data
• Act as Bioscience representative in assigned projects
• Potentially act as new Target Champion, ie proactively identify and develop new target ideas into projects

Your profile
Essential for the role:

• PhD in biology, physiology, pathology or medicine or other relevant areas
• Extensive hands-on experience in running in vivo experiments in rodents with experience in renal models
• Educated and certified for in vivo experimentation

• Strong oral and written communication skills. English is essential, Swedish is appreciated but is not a requirement

We are building a world-class team of technologists to execute research and product development towards next-generation batteries. We are seeking a Battery Cell Development Project Manager to help make it happen. Your main responsibility in this role will be owning battery cell development projects from start to finish: from lab to commercial deployment.



Volvo Cars is one of the most respected car brands in the world. Northvolt is a leading supplier of sustainable, high-quality battery cells and systems, dedicated to delivering the world’s greenest lithium-ion battery.



Together, we have formed a joint venture, NOVO Energy, to power the next generation of pure electric Volvo cars.



You will be part of the NOVO R&D team based in Gothenburg. We develop state of the art cells for our customer Volvo Cars, from concept to mass production. Development is done in close collaboration with our partner Northvolt.






What You'll Do

This role will drive work packages that enable development and industrialization of customized batteries meeting Volvo’s performance, quality, and cost requirements. As a Cell Development Project Manager, we expect you to have previously managed complex technical development programs within the automotive industry, preferably within battery technology. This role will require frequent travel to Northvolt Labs in Västerås, our partner in developing cells, for at least the first 2 years.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


- Take full ownership and drive cell development projects from planning to full-rate production.

- Secure the planning, execution, and delivery of agreed work packages from both internal and external collaborators.

- Create and maintain meaningful relationships with relevant key players and functions in NOVO and Northvolt, with an ability to travel extensively to development and production facilities throughout Sweden.

- Be the point of contact and liaison between NOVO R&D and Northvolt’s internal engineering team.

- Where needed, help transfer competence, scaling, and skills across teams while you drive ongoing cell development projects.



About You

You seek the truth in a complex and fast-moving technical environment. You make sure your word is always defensible, and present your findings honestly, precisely, and with facts to back you up. You’re able to motivate and inspire a team across multiple lines of reporting for the duration of multi-year projects. You collaborate with technical teams to problem-solve: find root causes, develop a plan to fix them, and then execute the plan.

You have worked through the entire arc of Li-ion cell product development, from prototype to production. Ideally, you’ve worked pre-prototype too: from lab to A-sample. You know manufacturing and understand the tempo of a factory and all its complex interfaces (and how to develop a product that works, at scale, in a factory).

You are flexible, meticulous, curious, and eager to learn from others. You have a strong technical background and have worked close to cutting-edge R&D teams.

Skills & Requirements:


- A MSc or BSc in Engineering or related technical field

- 10+ years of work experience in the automotive industry, including years spent commercializing Li-ion cells

- Experience individually setting up and driving development projects in an industrial setting

- Demonstrated ability to lead through motivation and delegation of authority and tasks

- Willingness to roll up your sleeves and act on any level when needed, to get things done and reach project goals

- Excellent English communication skills: written and oral English, plus visual communication of complex information in slides and presentations. Experience in customer-facing roles is a plus

Your work will focus on understanding the fundamentals of new materials and how they influence the performance of automotive batteries. You will plan and execute experiments, validate new analytical methods, and analyze data to assess which new materials, deployed together, will enable NOVO to meet performance requirements for next-generation Volvo Cars.

Design and execute experiments. Based on sound statistical methods, plan and deliver efficient experimental campaigns that provide actionable information about new battery cathode materials & manufacturing methods to cell designers.


- Develop characterization techniques that empower you and the team around you to understand particle-level and electrode-level cell performance drivers.

- Discover causative relationships. Connect material-level properties to product-level battery performance specs. Figure out methods of predicting cell performance based on analytics at the particle and electrode level.

- Once validated, work closely with cell designers to scale new materials into full-size cell designs. Iterate.

- Stay on top of the newest technology and methods out in the world. Use your judgment to make the case for which technologies are aligned with the company’s goals and worth investigating further.

- Communicate complex chemistry and materials science concepts clearly to non-expert audiences. Make your planning and technical thought process visible and understandable to the people around you, from managers to technicians.

Skills & Requirements

Your main responsibility will be owning battery cell development projects from start to finish: from lab to commercial deployment.

What You'll Do

This role will drive dedicated work packages to enable development and industrialization of a customized battery meeting Volvo’s performance, quality, and cost requirements. As a Cell Development Project Manager, we expect you to have previously managed complex technical development programs within the automotive industry, preferably within battery technology. This role will require frequent travel to Northvolt Labs in Västerås, our partner in developing cells, for at least the first 2 years.

Key responsibilities include , but are not limited to:

- Take full ownership and drive cell development projects from planning to full-rate production.
- Secure the planning, execution, and delivery of agreed work packages from both internal and external collaborators.
- Create and maintain meaningful relationships with relevant key players and functions in NOVO and Northvolt, with an ability to travel extensively to development and production facilities throughout Sweden.
- Be the point of contact and liaison between NOVO R&D and Northvolt’s internal engineering team.
- Where needed, help transfer competence, scaling, and skills across teams while you drive ongoing cell development projects.

About You

You seek the truth in a complex and fast-moving technical environment. You make sure your word is always defensible, and present your findings honestly, precisely, and with facts to back you up. You’re able to motivate and inspire a team across multiple lines of reporting for the duration of multi-year projects. You collaborate with technical teams to problem-solve: find root causes, develop a plan to fix them, and then execute the plan.

You have worked through the entire arc of Li-ion cell product development, from prototype to production. Ideally, you’ve worked pre-prototype too: from lab to A-sample. You know manufacturing and understand the tempo of a factory and all its complex interfaces (and how to develop a product that works, at scale, in a factory).

You are flexible, meticulous, curious, and eager to learn from others. You have a strong technical background and have worked close to cutting-edge R&D teams.

What You’ll Do

Your work will focus on understanding the fundamentals of new materials and how they influence the performance of automotive batteries. Design and execute experiments. Based on sound statistical methods, plan and deliver efficient experimental campaigns that provide actionable information about new battery cathode materials & manufacturing methods to cell designers.

- Develop characterization techniques that empower you and the team around you to understand particle-level and electrode-level cell performance drivers.
- Discover causative relationships. Connect material-level properties to product-level battery performance specs. Figure out methods of predicting cell performance based on analytics at the particle and electrode level.
- Once validated, work closely with cell designers to scale new materials into full-size cell designs. Iterate.
- Stay on top of the newest technology and methods out in the world. Use your judgment to make the case for which technologies are aligned with the company’s goals and worth investigating further.
- Communicate complex chemistry and materials science concepts clearly to non-expert audiences. Make your planning and technical thought process visible and understandable to the people around you, from managers to technicians.

Skills & Requirements

SEEL, Swedish Electric Transport Laboratory, is a collaboration between Chalmers and RISE for research and development in electromobility.

About the role
You will be working with SEEL's partners in the European collaboration project IPCEI Batteries regarding repurposing, recycling, and refining of batteries. Method development for tests concerning physical and chemical characteristics of used batteries regarding to transportation, storage and mechanical treatment is an area you will delve into and develop expertise in. You will also work on method development to understand the condition of batteries throughout their entire lifecycle and methods to ensure the quality of a remanufactured battery for safe use by customers and industry. The position also involves measurement technology and data analysis of measurement results.

Another significant aspect of the job is to work on research assignments from industrial clients and collaborate with other researchers at universities and institutes, including responsibility for creating new projects and writing applications. You will represent SEEL and ensure that we establish good collaborations, dialogue, and results; for example, by promoting SEEL at conferences and networking events. The placement is in Säve, Gothenburg, with weekly trips to Borås and occasional trips to the EU. You will report to SEEL's Research Director.

Who are you?

Project description

PowerCell develops both fuel cell stacks and systems for various applications, where the continuous improvement of performance, efficiency and durability is crucial. The Membrane-Electrode-Assembly (MEA) is a core component of the Proton-Exchange-Membrane (PEM) fuel cell and contains - next to other subcomponents - a Catalyst-Coated-Membrane (CCM), made up of two electrodes (anode and cathode) and the electrolytic membrane. The durability of PEM fuel cells still is a challenge for its successful introduction into a mass market and during the last decades, extensive R&D around the durability of involved components like e.g. the catalyst or the membrane was conducted. In opposite to this, the contribution of the electrode structure (i.e., its morphology) to the performance losses over time was less good investigated and is thus poorly understood. Additionally, for certain applications an intermediate PEM operating temperature (100-120° C) is required, which adds new challenges regarding MEA performance and lifetime.

Today, various electrode and MEA manufacturing methods are used for the preparation of fuel cell MEAs: At a laboratory-scale stage, methods like spray coating or the well-established doctor blade coating are used for fast prototyping while at a high-throughput state, methods like slot die coating or micro gravure coating are state-of-the-art. Depending on the employed coating technique, the coated catalyst ink is subjected to a certain shear force characteristic, which triggers a rheological response of the ink and ultimately leads to influences on the structure of the resulting electrode. The effect of the different coating methods and physical parameter matrix to the initial performance are not well described today. Assessing the effect of the preparation method on the lifetime behaviour of the MEA is crucial and even more important at intermediate temperatures. This challenge requires an increased attention in both research and development.

Key tasks of this work shall be:

- Identification of raw materials and semi-finished products key characteristics for an improved durability along the MEA development and production path.

- Investigation of measures for a better control of electrode structural properties with specific attention towards the ionomer type and distribution in the electrodes and the GDL - electrode interaction.

- Description of the effect of different electrode preparation processes to the resulting structural properties and the depending in-Situ behaviour.

- Characterization of the shear force impact of the preparation method and the interaction of the ink components with each other by rheology.

- Support the work with the development of a computational model, which should allow to assess the interaction between the designed structural properties and the operation condition over the lifetime of a fuel cell stack.

- Description of design parameters for electrodes with improved lifetime and durability.

- Description of an improved CCM structure optimized for intermediate-temperature application.

- The applicant should have a Master of Science or Engineering degree in chemical engineering, engineering physics (engineering science), materials science, physical chemistry (physical science) or a related field.

The role

Within the EPDM manufacturing unit, in the GMP arena, you will make an important contribution in delivering clinical results in the development of new medicines. This role entails coordination and management of materials used for product manufacture, ensuring timely and reliable supply of materials and components that fulfil regulatory requirements and cGxP. This exciting role is a core enabler of timely manufacturing of drug product for AZ clinical studies and has a significant impact, and potential to improve, on the speed, quality and cost of the AZ development portfolio.



Your main accountabilities/responsibilities:

Assume appointed accountability, and process ownership, to ensure timely deliveries of raw materials to allow manufacture of drug products in line with the plans agreed within EPDM.

Responsibilities
Together with your colleagues in the computational chemistry & biology team you will be responsible for the analysis toolkit in our proprietary Integrative Screening Process (ISP) platform and strengthen our competence and resources in non-linear modelling and deep learning.

Using ISP, IRLAB discovers and develops unique drug candidates for central nervous system (CNS) disorders where large and growing medical needs exist.

The ISP platform is built on a systems pharmacology discovery approach with an extensive, world-unique, standardized database of multidimensional system response profiles of in-house compounds and a large set of marketed drugs from all major CNS classes and other references compounds with known effects in humans. The dedicated and stringent build-up of this database has been ongoing for over 25 years. Machine learning and multivariate statistics methodology constitute a cornerstone at IRLAB in the analysis of high-dimensional data. A set of tools based on these methods has been developed for the prediction of drug efficacy and for identification of drug candidates with potential to address unmet medical needs in CNS disorders. 

IRLAB is a research-intensive company in an expansive phase with 30+ employees at present. You will be a vital part of a small group responsible for mathematical modelling and computations throughout the drug discovery and development process. The group consists of experienced scientists in these fields, as well as drug discovery and development, computational chemistry, computational biology, data analysis, biostatistics and informatics. You will deepen our knowledge and extend our toolbox with methods from recent developments in non-linear modelling and deep learning. You will focus on further developing and sharpening the ISP platform.

Qualifications

Product Design at RISE is searching for a Research and Development Engineer with focus on extrusion and food technology. We are twenty persons working with technology and design of foods and other biobased materials, assisting industry in with product development and applied research. Topics range from novel plant-based meat and dairy analogues and 3D-printed food for seniors to materials applications of nano-cellulose and marine biopolymers. We combine expertise in practical experimental activities and test beds, especially www.ri.se/sv/test-demo/pilotproduktion-av-livsmedel, with advanced instrumental analysis in structure, materials science and aroma.

The role
The role as R&D engineer includes independent practical work in our test and demo facilities especially focusing on twin-screw extrusion of food products. It also includes prototype development combined with fundamental understanding of the raw material properties and how the process influences the final product characteristics. All work is conducted in close collaboration with our customers, who range from SMEs to large multinational companies. The role also includes responsibility and training for various equipment and maintenance of the food grade pilot plant as well as contact with customers, establishing and maintaining a network within industry and coordinating and running projects. The work is always in close collaboration with other colleagues and competences, within and outside RISE.

Who are you?

Experience of independent work applying process technologies to develop food products is key, particularly previous experience from food extrusion. Som sjukhusgenetiker ansvarar du för att rätt genetisk analys blir utförd, på ett patientsäkert sätt. Efter upplärning tolkar och besvarar du självständigt diagnostiska genetiska analyser och som sjukhusgenetiker har du också ett ansvar för utbildning och handledning. Du kommer att arbeta med NGS och helgenomsekvensering, med ansvar för tolkning och besvarning. Den laborativa verksamheten, som ingår i Centrum för Medicinsk Genetik, utför majoriteten av all genetisk analys inom Västra Götalands regionen.  Verksamheten präglas av förändringsarbete och utveckling både avseende arbetssätt och införande av ny kunskap inom förvärvad och ärftlig cancer, fosterdiagnostik samt sällsynta sjukdomar. Enheten för Genetisk Analys och Bioinformatik (GAB) ingår i centrumbildningen och inom enheten arbetar molekylärbiologer, sjukhusgenetiker och bioinformatiker. Om rollen
Som forskare hos oss kommer du att ingå i ett team bestående av 17 personer som i uppdrag samarbetar brett med industri, offentlig sektor, akademi och inte minst med våra många kollegor inom RISE. Projektens karaktär varierar stort; från akademiska samarbeten i form av forskningsprojekt och handledning av doktorander, till direkta industriprojekt såsom energikartläggningar, beräkningar och analyser. Projekten spänner över hela innovationskedjan från forskning och utveckling till kvalitetssäkring och strategiskt hållbarhetsarbete. Vem är du?
För att bli framgångsrik i rollen som forskare hos oss söker vi dig som vill bidra till ett resurs- och energieffektivt samhälle, har ett stort driv och intresse för att arbeta med dessa frågor kopplat till analys och utveckling av såväl värdekedjor som industriella system. Som deltagare i projekt behöver du kunna arbeta självständigt, ta egna initiativ och ha förmåga att skapa goda relationer samt kommunicera problemställningar och resultat på ett tydligt sätt i både tal och skrift. Stor vikt kommer att läggas vid personlig lämplighet och intresse för att utvecklas inom området industriell energi- och resurseffektivitet. Det är viktigt att du är en lagspelare som vill bidra till enhetens utveckling.

Du kommer att arbeta utifrån ett systemperspektiv, där samband mellan helhet, delar och detaljer analyseras och olika perspektiv kopplas ihop. Det är av vikt att du är analytiskt sinnad, är väl förtrogen med datorbaserad modellering och analys (gärna kunskap om statistisk analys kopplat till systemmodeller), samt har kompetens och erfarenhet av att arbeta med tekniska lösningar och kemi/kemiteknik. Vi tror att du är disputerad forskare eller civilingenjör med ett antal års arbetserfarenhet inom till exempel kemiteknik/processteknik samt med kunskap och intresse för hållbarhetsfrågor. Varierande bakgrunder, perspektiv och kompetenser ser vi som en styrka, och vi tror att du kommer att tillföra unika perspektiv som kommer bidra till vår utveckling. Samtidigt kommer du lära dig mycket och utveckla din egen kunskap.

Vi satsar stort inom området Dynamisk Mätteknik, där vi söker kompetens inom områden som signalbehandling, och utvärdering samt även fysikalisk förståelse för problemställningar och mätuppställningar, både i eget laboratorium och i kundapplikationer.

Det finns nu kompetens, behov och vilja, både inom RISE och i industrin för att påbörja en förändring. RISE vill möjliggöra framtagandet av mättekniska metoder och tillvägagångssätt som sedan kan tillämpas i en mängd olika mättekniska applikationer, dels inom produktutveckling och hållbarhet inom industrin, men också där RISE redan idag tillhandahåller tjänster.

Om oss
RISE Mätteknik är ett nationellt centrum för kvalitetssäkrad mätteknik. Vi utvecklar nya sätt att mäta både klassiska enheter och nya mer beteenderelaterade metoder i samverkan med näringsliv och övriga samhället. Det inbegriper allt från till exempel högspänningsmätning i smarta elnät, mätsensorer i självkörande fordon och geometrisäkring i produktionsflöden till mätning av hälsa för individer kopplat till ersättningsmodeller inom välfärden. Vårt arbete omfattar alla steg i mätning från behovsanalys, försöksplanering till beslutsfattandet och styrning. RISE mätteknik är svenskt nationellt metrologi-institut (NMI) vilket innebär att vi är ett kompetenscentrum som samordnar oss med andra länder hjälper hela Sverige inom området. 

Om rollen
I rollen som forskare/projektledare hos oss kommer du att delta i arbetet att identifiera nya projektmöjligheter, bygga forskningsgrupperingar samt leda områden inom forsknings- och uppdragsprojekt. Som forskare kommer du att utifrån näringslivets behov och områdets möjligheter identifiera frågeställningar och angreppssätt och tillsammans med medarbetarna genomföra forskningen. Som projektledare finns möjligheten att arbeta med forskningsorienterad affärsutveckling och kundprojekt i samarbete med företag, universitet och högskolor samt myndigheter både i Sverige och internationellt. Det finns en stor frihet och många möjligheter att utveckla rollen.

Du kommer att vara projektledare och ambassadör för en nyligen uppstartad långsiktig satsning inom RISE. Det är en kunskapsplattform inom Dynamisk Mätteknik, som innebär att genom projekt bygga upp kompetens. Kompetensen ska dels gälla signalbehandling och utvärdering, som exempelvis systemidentifiering, dels fysikalisk förståelse för problemställningar och mätuppställningar, både i eget laboratorium och i kundapplikationer. Vissa delar är generisk för samtliga mätstorheter som exempelvis fler-dimensionell osäkerhetskalkyl.

Till din hjälp på RISE finns chefer, forskare, laboratorie-/teknikområdesansvariga med mycket djupa och breda kompetenser. Du är affärsinriktad och har god kommunikativ förmåga i tal och skrift. Detta kan komma till uttryck genom proaktiva kundkontakter, att skriva ansökningar till forskningsfinansiärer samt hålla seminarier och kurser. Du kommer att representera RISE Mätteknik i branschorienterade sammanhang.

Our CTO team is responsible for scouting, analyzing and developing new technology and IPR for coming product development. We work with cutting-edge technology at the forefront of development, in close collaboration with the R&D department and other parts of the company. The work involves analysis of emerging technologies and identification of the most promising technology strategies. We also manage the company patent portfolio and related IPR questions.

What will you do?

As New Technology Development Engineer, you will be involved in identifying new technologies and solutions for application in coming products. The work is very varying, ranging from high level system architecture optimizations to detailed implementation proposals. Most of our topics relate to microelectronic systems and biometric recognition, including the promising area of fingerprint-enabled smartcards.

Your key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Technology scouting, analysis, strategic technology choices, and technology development
• Early technology studies (research, concepts, prototyping, verification, system architecture)
• Identification and prioritization of technology & IP opportunities and risks
• Interaction with external suppliers, partners, and customers

Your professional and academic background

• Deep technical knowledge and academic background, with a Master or PhD degree in the relevant technology areas, such as Microelectronics, Material Science, Physics, or equivalent
• Experienced in driving technology assessments
• Knowledge of designing and prototyping complex technologies
• Experience in productification & industrialization of relevant concepts and products, preferably in an international setting

Om rollen
Du skall utveckla, leda och arbeta i projekt med simulering och tekno-ekonomisk analys av koncept där vi utvecklar framtidens hållbara och energieffektiva industri. Vi har en tyngdpunkt i skogsindustrin men arbetar brett över olika branscher med olika teknologier och koncept från förädling av restströmmar, industrins användning av vätgas till bioprocesser och koldioxidinfångning mm. Projekten är av varierande omfattning samt har både vetenskapligt djup och är tillämpade.

Du kommer att ingå i ett team som utvecklar och använder verktyg för processimulering och analys av nya processer genom mass- och energibalanser. Vi använder flera simuleringsverktyg men i denna roll är det i huvudsak Aspen Plus du kommer att arbeta med. Området är expansivt och utvecklingen sker i nära samarbete med industrin. Du kommer att arbeta både i våra egna olika forskningsprojekt samt med uppdragsforskning mot kund.

Vem är du?
För att bli framgångsrik i rollen är du en civilingenjör, gärna i kemi/kemiteknik eller motsvarande, med några års erfarenhet eller en ganska nyligen disputerad doktor inom relevant område. Erfarenhet från processindustrin (massa- och papper, drivmedel, kemi, kraft), projektledning samt simulering och teknoekonomisk utvärdering är meriterande.

På Gryaab jobbar vi tillsammans för ett renare hav och en bättre miljö. Gryaab ägs av kommunerna Ale, Bollebygd, Göteborg, Härryda, Kungälv, Lerum, Mölndal och Partille. På Ryaverket renar vi avloppsvattnet och tar bort en stor del av de näringsämnen som påverkar övergödningen i havet och återför det i kretsloppet i form av biogas och behandlat slam. Det renade vattnet släpps sedan ut i Göta älv. Gryaab är en modern och helautomatiserad anläggning. Sedan starten 1972 har bolaget gjort miljösatsningar för miljarder kronor som gjort att regionens vattendrag befriats från utsläpp av avloppsvatten och bidragit till ett renare hav. För att kunna möta samhällets framtida behov behöver Gryaab utvecklas hållbart. Därför har Gryaab startat programmet Nya Rya. Det blir Gryaabs största utbyggnation någonsin som beräknas vara färdigt år 2036. Gryaab har drygt 110 anställda och omsätter cirka 365 miljoner kronor.

ARBETSUPPGIFTER
Vill du vara med och arbeta för ett renare hav? Vi söker nu en kunnig och miljöintresserad utvecklingsingenjör till vår utvecklingsenhet på Gryaab.

Som utvecklingsingenjör på Gryaab medverkar du i projekt som bland annat syftar till att förbättra tekniska lösningar för verkets reningsprocesser och slambehandling. Du bidrar även i arbetet för att hitta nya och bättre metoder inför framtiden där ett viktigt mål är att kunna rena mer vatten på ett bättre sätt och med mindre resurser. Du får bland annat undersöka avloppsvattenreningstekniker i framkant och du kommer praktiskt att få utvärdera data, ta prover och driva försök med avloppsvatten och slam.

Du arbetar självständigt men också i samverkan med din arbetsgrupp med att utvärdera och dokumentera försöksresultat och utredningar. Din närmaste arbetsgrupp består av nio personer samt en avdelningschef som alla arbetar med utveckling, kvalitet och miljöfrågor. Gruppen kännetecknas av samarbete, dynamik och nyfikenhet. Vi gillar att tillsammans med andra kompetenser möta avloppshanteringens tekniska utmaningar på ett praktiskt och långsiktigt hållbart sätt. Dina arbetstider är dagtid med möjlighet till flex.


KVALIFIKATIONER
Vi söker dig som utbildad civilingenjör med inriktning mot miljö, process eller kemi. Du har tidigare erfarenhet från reningsverk eller liknande processanläggning med exempelvis provtagningar eller processutredningar. I din tjänst kommer du att samverka med både interna och externa resurser samt upprätta tekniska rapporter. Detta ställer krav på att du kan uttrycka dig väl i det svenska språket, såväl i tal som skrift. Du behöver även behärska det engelska språket.

Vi ser det som meritande om din utbildning hade inriktning mot VA, alternativt att du arbetat eller gjort ditt examensarbete inom området.

Som person är du kreativ och stimuleras av arbete med tekniska problem, såväl teoretiska som praktiska. Du sätter tydliga mål som ser till att nå genom en noggrann och strukturerad process. Vendor and site management (e.g. selection, training, monitoring, follow-up).

Perform/supervise/coordinate site visits such as site selection, initiation, training, management, monitoring, close out.
Oversee data management activities throughout the study.

Your Qualifications
Relevant (Life science) education on MSc level.
Minimum 3 years of experience in Clinical Project/Study Management (preferably Medical Device) in an international setting.
Proven track record of working in cross functional teams.
Solid experience of managing various study types in different phases eg. pre/post-registration study involving patients, healthy volunteers, and/or registries.
Relevant knowledge of GCP and applicable regulations/laws.
Basic understanding in statistics, data management and scientific writing.
Fluent in English (written and spoken).

About the position
In your role as a researcher you will independently design and execute sensory and consumer experiments in national and international research projects as well as short-term projects for the industry. Your role will vary between being the project leader as well as project member in different parallel projects working closely with other sensory scientists and product development researchers. Other responsibilities include performing data analysis, interpretation of experimental results and reporting these, writing scientific papers and research proposals.

Who are you?
As a Researcher at RISE, we believe that you are self-motivated, science driven, eager to learn and to incorporate new ideas. You are highly collaborative and able to work in a team environment. You have excellent oral and written communication skills in both research and industry environments. You either have a PhD in sensory sciences or related fields (e.g., psychology or nutrition) or several relevant years of experience in the area. Research experience in consumer or sensory science.
Knowledge in data analyses and statistics, especially using univariate and multivariate analysis in sensory and consumer analysis.
Proven publication record in international peer-reviewed journals.

The department of Industrial and Materials Science at Chalmers University of Technology now has an available post doc position in electrochemical processing of graphene. The position aims at strengthening the activities of the division of Materials and Manufacture in the production and processing of graphene-based materials, in synergy with Area of Advance Production and Area of Advance Materials Science, and with activities ongoing on graphene research in other departments of Chalmers and in the Graphene Flagship project.

Project description
Graphene-based technology, which allows to produce 2-dimensional materials (2DM) with tunable properties on large scale, is becoming mature for industrial applications. First large-scale applications of 2DM are already commercial, mostly based on graphene-polymer composites. Applications of graphene in electronics or energy storage are also under fast development. Graphene composites with non-polymeric materials (e.g. metals, ceramics, glasses) are at more fundamental research level; the high-temperature processing and complex microstructure of these inorganic matrices are more challenging than the ones of polymers, but the skills to tackle them have now been developed by the scientific community, and time is mature for further development.

This position will focus on the development of novel nano-composites based on graphene and similar 2-dimensional materials for applications in the fields of composites, energy storage and sensing. The 2D nanosheets will be processed using chemical and electrochemical techniques, and combined with other materials such as metals , oxides and polymers to create novel layered coatings and bulk composites.

The composites will be characterized using advanced characterization methods, including techniques like analytical electron microscopy (SEM and TEM) and surface analysis (Auger and XPS), in combination with all necessary complementary techniques (AFM, Raman, XRD, etc.).

Information about the division
The division of Materials and Manufacture is a part of the Department of Industrial and Materials Science. The division covers the entire value chain from materials design, processing and characterisation to machining of primarily metals. We employ a range of technologies – powder metallurgy, electroplating, additive manufacturing and material removal – and a range of advanced characterisation techniques. Our work is interdisciplinary by nature and is addressing topics that have a direct impact on sustainability. The division is collaborating closely with other universities and research institutes and is implementing industry-academia partnerships through collaborative projects and strategic initiatives such as the National Competence Centre for Additive Manufacturing – Metal (CAM2) and the Chalmers Centre for Metal Cutting Research (MCR).

Major responsibilities
The candidate will perform daily research activities in the lab in an independent way, possibly supervising the activities of one or more PhD students. You are expected to develop own scientific reports and communicate the results of the research performed verbally and in writing in English.

The position is meritorious for future research duties within academia as well as industry/the public sector.

Position summary
Full-time temporary employment. The position is limited to a maximum of two years (1+1).

Qualifications
- PhD in chemistry, materials science or closely related disciplines, awarded by an internationally recognized university. 

- Highly motivated candidate, with strong passion and good knowledge of electrochemistry and materials science.

- Practical abilities and inclination to work in a chemical lab, imagine and build new experimental setups, perform statistical analysis of experimental data.

- Ability to disseminate scientific results, train and supervise PhD students.

- Full professional proficiency in English. You will also need to acquire Swedish proficiency within 2 years.

The following qualifications will be considered as advantages:
- Experience in surface chemistry, graphene production and/or advanced materials characterization techniques.
- Ability to communicate in Swedish.
